"Yes, he probably does, he's just making his own plans to get back at Robert, and he'll need Alaric's help for his revenge on Robert, and I found out Alaric and Robert have been seen together a lot lately, which makes me think something's up with those two," she revealed.
"Thank you for the suggestions, Fiona," I said.
"You're welcome; I'll hang up now," she said. She hung up the phone.
I put my phone back in my pocket, reasoning all that she had told me. I was thinking, if what she had said about Nicholas was true, does that mean Nicholas has been using me all this time, and I'm going to make him pay for that.
I reached for my phone in my pocket, unlocked it, went to the call log, dialled Lora's number, placed it on my ear, and it rang for a few seconds before she finally picked up the phone.
"Hey Lora," I called out.
"Hello, Adam," she said.
"I just wanted to check in on you and see if you were okay," I explained.
"Yes, I'm safe," she confirmed.
"All right, that's nice," I said.
"Is everything okay, Adam?" she inquired.
"Yeah, everything is fine; I just wanted to make sure you were safe," I replied.
"All right, I'm going now," she said.
"Before you hang up, I'd like to ask you to go check on Mum," I said softly.
"OK, I'll check on her," she said.
I hung up the phone, relieved that Ellie was safe, and put my phone back into my pocket. I suppose I should go confirm what Fiona told me about Alaric and Robert; I'll have to abandon the search for Ellie's father for the time being.
***************
I was riding my motorcycle to Mr. Fred's house when a call from Lora came in; I had my Bluetooth connected to my phone, so all I had to do was pick up the call with my Bluetooth.
"Hey, Adam, you need to come down here right now because my mother has gone missing," she yelled.
“Mum! "What happened to her?" I inquired.
"Just get over here as soon as you can," she yelled. And then she hang up on me.
That looks like trouble; I think I have to go home right away. it's similar to what happened in my dream the other day; I can't let that happen in real life, so I turned my motorcycle around and sped back home.
I drove into our street a few minutes after she called me and pulled over in front of the house to pack the motorcycle. I then turned off the engine and removed the key, alighted from the motorcycle, and held my helmet in my hand.
I dashed towards the house, checked the door, and it didn't appear to be broken, which made me feel a little relieved, even though I wasn't sure my mother was okay yet, but I know what is happening is different from what happened in the terrible dream I had.
