Chapter 17

  The king and queen were watching their daughter the whole time, they were really impressed, " I told you, she would be ok " the queen leaned on the king's shoulder, your highness the priest seeks your presence now, he says he has a message,a fine young man said to the kind with his head bowed.

     Tell the priest to see me in my chambers, the fine young man bowed again then turned to leave,the king and queen headed to the palace and waited for the priest.

      An old man,walked into the palace, he wasn't dressed like the rest,he wore a garment covering his whole body,and had several necklace of different length and designs some had little skulls on them,and the jingled as he walked, he was given a sit my the king's guard." Your majesty,I have bad news for you, there's a war that's fast approaching,and many would die", the king was had a worried look on his face, the old man continued, you would die in the war and the queen would be taken as a sex slave, your people would be subjected to hard labour,and they would be stripped of all courage and hope.

      The priest was the oldest member of the land,and had the ability to predict the future,and this time he had a disheartening news that,placed the entire royal house in great shock,the youngest of the royal family was Athena and she could barely defend herself,everyone in the land were shocked,such a peaceful land would be destroyed by enemies, they were all sad.

    The king and queen were worried about their land and their only daughter,they called their personal adviser, which was the middles age woman who promised to wake Athena to the outside world, " lady Mel, our enemies has finally won,and I can't protect my kingdom from this war, I need your advise,the king said almost In tears.

     Lady Mel wasn't happy either," we would fight till we can't any longer,we can't flee in fear, we are gods and should be remembered for something mighty" lady Mel said while standing " then I will assembly everyone,we would prepare against any attack,but Athena won't be a part of it,I know she can fight for her people,but I want her to survive and deliver our people,then she would be remembered as a great queen" the king said wearing a less worried face.

    The queen stood up from her throne, her tears already blurred her vision,she walked up to lady Mel,and fell on her knees " please lady Mel,take athena with you,and flee from this place,I beg of you,not just as a queen but a mother and best friend,I can't watch my only daughter die in a war" the king also stood up from his throne,and walked up to Elena, " our daughter would be safe,we might not be alive after the war but we would always be with her, she would leave so seek refuge,she would explore like she has always wanted,but we would set an example and a path for her to follow,trust me my glee everything would be ok"

  The queen held lady Mel's hand,to support herself while standing,she was weak she fainted and was rushed to her room,Athena heard of her mother's illness and rushed to her chambers " mom are you ok" ,the queen looked at her daughter with so many emotions going through her eyes,she used her thumb to caress her cheek " Athena my love,I want you to leave this Kingdom,I want you to explore like you have always wanted,you don't need to be a ruler, you must not behave like royalty,you can leave a free life without responsibility, you can go with lady Mel,she would be your guardian in the outside world" Athena was happy that her parents were finally convinced by lady Mel to allow her visit the outside world.

    But she was also confused, her mother was a goddess and cannot be sick,but she looked pale,and had blue lips,her eyes were red,and her lashes were wet due to excessive crying. She couldn't help but ask what was wrong, " mom why are you crying?" Her mother didn't answer her for a while,she asked again but with he much serious tone " I am expecting a baby Athena,these are tears of joy,and that's why you can go on the adventure you have always wanted,you won't be alone any longer' Athena was so happy she kissed her mom and ran out of the room,she ran to her father," Dad! Dad!Mom is pregnant,and am expecting a baby brother. ``The king was confused. He never knew his wife was pregnant. How can she expect a baby in time of war?

  Lost in his thought,this was really a bad,maybe the vision seer might be wrong this time,there great land won't be ruined neither will his people,he held them so dearly,and his only daughter might be killed,now his wife is pregnant," dad can you hear me, dad!!!!" Her voice brought the king back to reality, Athena wasn't aware of the misfortune that has befallen their land.

    "Dad,I would be going to the outside world,since I am no longer going to be the only child, my responsibility as the future queen has been lifted,and I can now have my freedom" the king was stunned by what his daughter said,she was indeed oblivious about things,and it seems Elena lied to her,it wasn't something she would normally do,she was the most truthful and honest among other goddesses.

    It was a relief she was unaware, because she was a determined goddess, though she is small she was wise, beautiful, elegant, adventurous,she had so many things other goddesses envy,and that's why she would make a perfect queen, the king patted her back," Athena,I would want you to leave today with lady mel,you would be born as a human,but you need to come back once you are eighteen years as a human"

    Athena was so happy,so would finally experience what growing up as a human would be like, maybe she can find love in a humans eyes, she knew that humans and goddesses would be one of a kind,or likely the first,but what's adventure without risk,she hugged her father,to the goddess he was there king and dictator,but to her he was he support zone.

     She would miss her father,she knew to them eighteen human years would be like minutes to them,she was sixty years,but you humans she knew she would look a little " I would miss you dad,I love you so much " she said with teary eyes, while looking up to her father,this gesture made the king to emotional,it was painful that his daughter would be going to that cruel world humans live.

           The king averted his eyes from her,he won't want to show any sign of weakness,he summoned courage and called the guards to bring lady Mel,and queen Elizabeth to his chamber,and In no time they arrived, my glee please come sit with me,you look very tired,why he held her hands and led her to  her tahrone,while lady mel sat down not very far from the throne,she seemed nice and she was respected by both the king and queen.
