Chapter 35

      She tried again but with no effort, is there something we are not doing, or is there something we have not done? Athena sighed in frustration as her effort were void, she dug her hands into the sand then tried meditation but it never happened.

     Well we can always try tomorrow. I gave her a warm hug. I really love them, not minding the fact that I only saw them yesterday. They are now the friends I have always wanted.

    Where can i see water, kailani is from the sea, that means she needs to test her powers in the sea, or maybe a nearby river, how about a tub, i can't act like a lunatic in a public pool.

     My mom's room has a bathtub in it. I can use it as an experiment. When I got back home,my mom was busy in the shop. After my so-called death, she closed her shop, in order to mourn the departure of her daughter.

        And now she opened the shop all over again, people who missed her delicious food, were waiting in line to be served, and i couldn't help, because i might bring too much attention to myself.

     Not everyone who came there was ready to eat, but they just wanted to see that the little girl who stood up from a coffin is still around, and I might  not be able to Tolerate any further questions.

     Only David was at home, but he seemed to be fast asleep, so I tiptoed into my mom's room. Kailani and Athena seemed to be enjoying the day more than I did, they were giggling constantly.

      They really enjoyed the outside world. Athena seemed like an adventurer when she was just a little goddess, and Kailani never knew what life outside my body was, so every activity was thrilling to them.

     We got to the bathroom, then I filled it with water, " time to check your powers kailani", she closed her eyes in order to concentrate but nothing happened. Well her people are half human and half fish.

     Maybe she would transform when she enters the water, she dipped her toe into the water and she flinched, " hahaha, how can a sea creature be afraid of water" Athena said while laughing.

    And I did the same, it was really funny. She tried again, and she Didn't find it scary. We were expecting changes but nothing happened. She entered the tub, but nothing happened. She then sat inside the water and her skin changed.

    They became dark grey, and her hair were much more longer and shiny, but her tail was nowhere to be found, " well that's a relief, at least there's a sign that we are making progress"

    " Trying breathing underwater", Athena said, ``I was in support of that. there were changes in her body, that means she must be ready to breathe underwater, kailani deeps her head inside,a few seconds later she stood up panicking.

      " I saw myself in another realm", kailani said while trying to control herself, what does she mean by another realm " what did you see?", Athena asked, " i saw a woman trying to reach out to me, she almost looks like me.. i...i" 

     She couldn't complete her sentence when we heard voices in the sitting room, it's my mom's voice, " kailani stand up", i urged her to get out the water so u can drain it.
