Chapter 115: She Lied

                              ***SHE LIED***

I greeted aunty Paula as I opened the door, but she just stood outside and asked if my mom was inside, she had to confirm my mom's availability before she could come into our house. For a fact, I really think aunty Paula was scared of me. But why could she possibly be scared of me? It's not like I'm one of these cult boys who go around intimidating people, I even heard that Wala was a cultist. After when she was already inside and sitted waiting for mom, I told her that I was on my way to her house before she came in and she asked why and what I was going to do there.

"My house? Why? How? I meant... What are you going there to do?"

She stammered as she tried to communicate her words. I answered her saying that I was only going to see Cynthia. When I made this known to her she felt this great shock as she responded in what was very obvious to be a lie saying:

"Cynthia? Oh, she is not at home... I... I sent her to... To the market to get foodstuff."

"But I just chatted with her, and she said she is at home waiting for me."

I responded in confusion.

"Hahaha you don't even know that girl, she is just trying to catch a cruise, she is not home my son, ill let you know when she is home, dont worry."

She said very unbelievably. It was very weird because I chatted with Cynthia just before aunty Paula came to our door, and she told me that she was home, she even asked me to come over that she was waiting for me.

Later, my mom came out, I could no longer go to Cynthia's place because her mom said she was not at home. Even Cynthia confirmed that her mom had been acting weird lately, she affirmed that she was at home and that her mom had not sed her to any market to get anything. She insisted that I should come over regardless, but I decided to stay back since aunty Paula had claimed she sent her out to the market to get foodstuff for the house. I wouldn't want to let aunty Paula know that I Know that we were lying, I remember mom had told me one time that is good to tell elders that they are lying, and going to see Cynthia after she has told me that Cynthia went to the market in the same thing as telling it to her face that she was a liar, that was why I chose to stay back at home. So, mom came out of her room that evening to attend to her friend who had to the house to meet her. Mom who had been moody all day came out wearing a long face, it was obvious that she was not happy, even though she tried to cover up, it was still too apparent.

"Why are you wearing such a long face"?

Aunty Paula asked.

"My dear, forget about, im good."

So mom said, still trying to cover up. They had a long discussion of which eighty percent was literally about me. Aunty Paula had come specifically because of my condition which kept getting worse seconds after seconds, my entire body is infested with scales, I'm was just glad that it never appeared on my face. So, since I could not go to see Cynthia, I had to stay around and eavesdrop on their little conference. Yes, there is no way that I'm going to bury myself in the room all alone and bored, so, since I can't go to my Cynthia, I had to stay and listen to their conversations, after all, it's not my fault.

"Julie, I spoke with that friend of mine that I told you about, yes, that one I told you does some dispeakable things, well she gave me an address of a spiritual man who she believed to be the strongest around... But... You know I asked you if you can go anywhere? I dont know if you can go to this one o."

Aunty Paula whispered, looking kind of weird.

"Paula dear, I believe that I have told you this before. I will go anywhere, tell me about the place... How is it? Where is it? In fact, when are we going?"

Mom asked looking so anxious and eager to go anywhere and at any time. Looking at mom, anyone can tell they she was ready to do anything and even go anywhere just to same me.

"My dear, it's a native doctor's place."

Paula said, she whispered in a very low pitch, if not for my sense of hearing which has grown even higher I wouldn't have heard what she was saying. Mom already knows that I'm hearing all they were saying so she got no reason to whisper.

"Paula, I said I'm going anywhere, as far as he is not that sham you took us to the last time. So when are we going."

Mom responded and anxiously anticipating when to go to the place.
