"No, can’t we not separate and be together." He whined.
"No, we have to go see our loved ones so they don’t think we are dead." I said and removed his hand from mine with great difficulty.
And then he started walking into the building. I made sure he was out of sight before I looked around to see if anyone was looking at me. I closed my eyes and disappeared. I found myself in Ralph’s living room. And then I started hearing footsteps heading my way.
"Ralph, is that you?" I heard Mrs Silver calling.
"What do I do now? This is so fucked up." I stood there and she came into view, and tears started falling down her pale cheeks. She approached me and hugged me tightly, stroking my back.
"Ralph, where have you been? I missed you so much that I thought you were dead." She said as she disengaged from the hug. She hit me lightly on the head.
"Don’t ever go out without telling me." She whined. I held my two ears.
"I am very sorry, mum." I said with pouted lips.
"Awwn, I don’t know why I can’t get angry at you for a long time, wait for me, let me go get you some food." She said and walked away.
I think I will enjoy it here, as long as I have someone making food for me. I fell on the couch. I started looking at my hand. I can't believe I am Ralph. I am a boy. What does it feel like to be a guy? That means I can’t fly or go to hell to ask my husband why he abandoned me. If I fly to hell, there is no doubt that he will kill me, thinking I am Ralph. I will just make the whole thing easy.
Author’s POV
Lucinda sat there, tapping her hand on the table, waiting for Mrs Silver to bring food for her.
Minutes later.
She came out of the kitchen with a variety of foods and arranged them on the table. It was like she knew Lucinda had a large appetite. She sat close to Lucinda, and they both started eating.
"You must be really hungry." Mrs Sliver commented.
"Yes, I am damn hungry." She replied.
"Where were you all those time?" Mrs Sliver asked, sipping orange juice. Lucinda looked at her while licking her lips, wanting to taste the orange juice. As she dropped the juice on the table, Lucinda quickly grabbed it and started drinking it. while Mrs Sliver stared weirdly at her.
"Since when did you start drinking orange juice?" she asked bluntly, and Lucinda guzzled.
"I don’t know." Lucinda replied.
"Anyway, where were you." She asked, staring at Lucinda as she started devouring chicken feet.
Lucinda didn’t know if she should tell her or not, so she started eating her food thinking of a lie.
"Answer me, don’t think of lying to me." She said, raising her brow.
"I went on a business trip, just forgot to tell you." Lucinda stated.
