Lucinda removed his hand from her waist and stood on her own.
"Let's go. I am much better now." She declared he stared at her from top to bottom.
"Are you serious?" He inquired.
"Yes, I am. I can't go anywhere without you." Lucinda beamed, battling her lashes.
"As much as I don't like the idea, I also need you. Let's go." Ralph declared and grasped her hand.
"Let's get rid of that man." Lucinda declared with an evil grin.
Ralph closed his eyes and teleported them to the front of his mom's apartment.
The apartment was huge, with a car packed at the front. It was more like a house, with rose flowers all around it and a big balcony at the top.
The sky was a little cloudy.
"Everything looks normal," Lucinda commented, looking around the house.
"You don't judge a book by its cover," Ralph remarked while walking towards the wooden door. The place smelled like mint. Ralph's feet were sinking into the sand in front of the house.
Ralph was about to open the door with full force when water from the top of the house landed on his head.
"What the heck?" Ralph stated, touching his hair.
The water also touched Lucinda on the head.
"Did you feel that? I think it's going to rain." Lucinda remarked.
"I don't think so. It's something else," Ralph remarked, and stepped back and looked up at the house. Lo and behold, he saw his mom hanging on the balcony. She was being supported by a rope that was about to be cut. The rope was tiny and weak. It was a dreadful sight.
Ralph wrinkled his nose, looking up at his mom and along with Lucinda. The water that fell on their bodies was actually her sweat.
"You are welcome, Ralph." Ralph heard his voice but didn't see anyone. He started looking around with Lucinda, looking for where the voice was coming from.
"Save me, my son!" Mrs. Silver yelled.
"What does he want from you, mom!!" Ralph yelled, putting his hand on his mouth.
"He is obsessed about something and I think you have it, so he wants to use me as bait to get it." Mrs. Silver replied.
"Don't worry mom, I'll get you out of there," Ralph assured as he opened the door. The house was dark, and he couldn't see anything. He ran inside with Lucinda, and someone huge pushed them both out.
They both fell to the ground, wondering what hit them when a muscular man strolled out of the house with Mr. Maxwell by his side. His head was bandaged with bruises all over his face.
"It's been a long time since I've seen you my son." He beamed.
"Who is your son?" Ralph asked with a frown, helping Lucinda off the ground.
"I believe you have seen your mother. Her life is in my hand now." Mr. Maxwell stated.
"Not for long." Ralph stated.
"If you think you can save her, you are free to do so." Mr. Maxwell said with an evil grin.
