Statue problem 2

"Ouch! Don't touch me there, it's painful." Lucinda muttered and screwed up her face.

"Can you walk or should I carry you?" Ralph inquired, trying to lift her off the ground.

"My body is on fire." She muttered.

"Are you certain you fell from the ladder, or did you just fall halfway because you should have died by now?" Ralph stated.

"I fell from that place," Lucinda muttered, pointing at the middle of the ladder.

"Hang in there, I will take you to the hospital," he said, lifting her off the ground.

Lucinda was trying to protest, but her mouth was stuck.

"Don't..." Lucinda couldn't complete her speech when Ralph's phone started ringing.

He carried her in his arms, staring into her eyes.

"Stay still, my love." He muttered.

"Your phone is ringing." Lucinda mumbled.

"I can't answer it. What could be more important than you right now?" He inquired.

"You can't ignore the call; your phone is ringing repeatedly." Lucinda stated.

"Shut up, you nag too much." Ralph complained and dropped her back on the ground, supporting her with his left hand.

He took out his phone from his pocket and stared at the caller. It was from an unknown number.

He picked up the call and put it in his ear without uttering a word.

"Let me go! I thought you were no longer in my life. If my son comes, he won't spare you!!" Ralph heard Mrs Silvers' voice in the background. She sounded like she was suffering.

"Hello mum, hello." Ralph called out to her, but she couldn't hear him because the phone was not with her.

"I am just an innocent woman who wants to leave her life without you." Mrs. Silver said in a hushed tone.

"Shut up, bitch!!" Ralph heard someone's voice from the background, but he couldn't recognize the person's voice.

"Who are you? Let go of my mom!" Ralph yelled.

"Shh, you are shouting too much. You know what I want?" Mr Maxwell stated.

"Wait, how did you know where my mom is?" Ralph inquired.

"The same way I knew where your company is, come or she will die in the next 2 hours. Trust me, she is on the verge of death." Mr Maxwell stated, and hung up.

"Goddamnit!! Why is that old hag so cunning and stubborn? I think I will have to commit a great sin." Ralph declared, clenching his fists.

"What happened to mom?" Lucinda inquired.

"Mr Maxwell has abducted her. I will have to end his life. I don't care if he is my mom's husband." Ralph commented.

"What with that statue that he wanted so bad?" Lucinda inquired.

"It's not just a statue, Lucy, it is money, and do you know what people can do for money? They can do anything." He stated, staring at her.

"I will have to drop you off at the hospital and go to him." Ralph stated.

"But he didn't tell you where he was, did he?" Lucinda inquired.

"I think he is in my mom's apartment." Ralph replied.
