Chapter 22

Javea tilted to the other side of the bed as beads of sweat gathered on his forehead. He stood up from where he was laying down as he held his head in agony. He prayed and hoped that it wasn't what he thought it would be. Because if it was, it would be so bad since Hattie was in his house. He had earlier thought that his season had come to an end so he didn't bother to move her again. But his beast was never satisfied. It would always come back hungry and wanting more. He got down from his bed as he headed to the shower, hopefully he thought that the shower would cool his nerves down, at least just for the night. He turned on the shower and let the cold water Hit his bare Back. Under the shower, he felt more calm and better, so the shower definetely was working. He turned off the shower as he made his way back to his bed..he thanked heavens that his beast chose to reasoning over misbehaviour.

About 10 minutes later, the feeling came again and this time it was worse. Now he knew that his beast is going to surface again and this time, no amount of water was going to calm him down. The throbbing pain came into his head again. He shifted uncomfortably in the bed in a bid to calm down the pain he felt all over, but he couldn't. He stood up as he paced around his room. He wondered what he would do now that he was almost losing it. Hattie was surely in danger and he don't like the sound of that.

The pain in his head became so unbearable that he fell to the ground as he held his head in agony. This was what he always passed through and it was not funny at all. His breathing became very rapid and intense as he was losing himself. He felt his Bones twisting and he knew that it was time and there was nothing anybody could do to stop it. He couldn't find it, he just had to live with it. That was the life of a lashedta.

" kill her, kill her, kill her, kill her, kill her" the voices kept lingering in his head. He held his head in a bid to stop the noises. It felt like they were talking to his soul and no matter what he did he could never say no. He started losing his breath as he fell to the floor as the energy came Coursing through his veins. He felt the tightness in his chest as he coughed out loudly. His Beast started taking over slowly and slowly, before Javier finally lost himself.

The lashedta stood up from the floor as he looked around the room. A smile planted on his face as he realised that he was on a mission to kill a girl. How he love the sound of that. How he loved to end the life of someone. How he loved to watch a person die in pain. The lashedta smiled as he made his way to the door of the room that he was in. He did not know where she was, but has scent kept calling him. He walked towards the room where her scent was the strongest and he knocked, no reply, he knocked again and there was no reply. He wanted to end the life of the person behind this door so badly. Why was her scent so hard to resist.

He kept on banging on the door, trying to pull it down. He had to get to her and he was going to get to her.

" Javier is that you? Hattie said as she madr her way to the door. She did not wait for a response before she opened the door and she met the surprise of her life. Javier was at the other end of the door, sweating from head to toe. He looked completely lost, just like he did the other night she came running here. This time she was sure that he wasn't drunk and she wondered what was up with him. He barged into her room the moment she opened the door.

"Javier are you okay?" she asked moving few steps backward because the way he walked towards her was really terrifying. He did not give her a reply as a kept working towards her looking at her very intensely.

"Javier you are really scaring me, what is the problem?" she asked as she panicked. Why was he acting that way, why wasn't he saying anything and why was he looking at her like? That was what she kept on asking herself as thousands of questions kept popping right into her head.

The lashedta smiled as he looked at his prey walking backwards in fear. He noticed how he felt something, he felt something in his chest that wasn't leaving and it she looked like she was a cause of it. Why was her scent so familiar and why did she have that familiar look in her eyes. He felt like he had known her for a long time but he couldn't could put the pieces together. Another part of him wanted to end her so badly, he wanted to see her suffer, he wanted to watch her being in pain. And that part was the dominant part. He walked towards her but he still had that hesitant feeling in his mind. He stopped in front of her as he raised his hand towards her but he couldn't. The look in her eyes pinned him down. He couldn't do anything, all he could do was just stay there and watch her. He wondered what kind of power she possessed.

who is this girl? he asked himself. He noticed that she stopped moving backwards and started proceeding towards him as she walked slowly and calmly towards him. That was something a prey never did. Anybody he had ever tried to attack always portrayed fear and begged for their live but here she was, coming close to him without any fear In her eyes.

She stopped in front of him as she placed her hands on his chin with tears in her eyes.

How he hated those tears that came down her cheek. It did a lot to him and he wondered why he felt his heart being torn into pieces as he looked at the lady in front of him. She had a terrible effect on him and he wondered why. Javier slowly started regaining himself back. The energy that was gathered, slowly start leaving him. The voice slowly started fading.  He looked at the lady in front of him and then he realised that it was Hattie.

He fell to the ground, as he landed on his knees in front of her as he couldn't even look at her anymore. His strength was already failing him. He wondered what he would have done if he had listened to The Voices that told him to kill her.

He remembered, he remember everything that happened and that was strange. He remembered everything, starting from his transformation, down to when he almost killed Hattie. This alone had him confused. A lashedta could never remember what had transpired in their season but here he was, being sober as ever for what he would have done/ what was be was about doing. He wondered how she did, how she ever able to calm a lashedta. He had never seen anyone or met anyone that portrayed that characteristics.

" you are not human " Hattie said above him as she placed her hands on his hair. She slowly lowered herself down to his level as she held his chin. "tell me Javier, what are you?, tell me everything"

Javier looked up to her. she had finally realised that he wasn't human. He was never a human at all. He never had the feeling of having a heart before.

The look in her eyes couldn't be deciphered, at all. He signed. He knew he had to tell her everything. There was no way he could explain all of this. She would probably run far away from him after he finishes revealing everything

 Flashback

Hattie still needed answers to all the questions that she had in her head. Fay just reopened the suspicion that she had before. She had always suspected that there was more to what was happening than just normalcy. She had a suspicion that Javier was more than what she thought he was and so was Bella, even the person that attacked her.

Being as curious as she could be, one night, while still at Bella's house, she borrowed Bella's laptop and started her research. She prayed and hoped that the internet would give her what she was looking for. She was frustrated that night as she couldn't get anything useful from the internet. There were some things that wasn't supposed to be on the internet, in the first place, how could she had forgotten. She cleared the search history and handed Bella back her laptop. she had a feeling that Bella would want to know what she was on about on her laptop.

After much research and getting nothing Hattie decided to just let it go. There was no way she was actually going to achieve something but she still had that feeling in her mind that something was up. She was still at alert though. She did not let any slight detail go past her.

Hattie was a very determined person and if she wanted to find out about something she was going to do so and it was very difficult for her to change her mind about something but she just decided to calm down in her research as she wasn't getting anything useful.

Hattie finding her mother's picture in Bella's room, along with other people's picture, with the saying 'marked' on it aroused her suspicions. Not just because of her mother's picture but because of the numerous pictures that were there. It was really disturbing and the fact that Bella kept that room a secret was more suspicious. It was really terrifying of how she kept various picture of people, including Hattie' mother and that was the reason why Hattie left as soon as she could.

Hattie's encounter with Javier slightly confirmed her suspicions but she did not want to believe what she felt it was. She was too scared to believe it. She was too scared to believe that there was a probablilty that he wasnt human.

She realised that somebody being drunk under the influence of alcohol cannot cause that kind of agitation. She remembered the look in his eyes and he didn't look anything drunk. Instead he looked angry and controllable.

She resumed her research more vividly and more precisely, trying to not miss out any details. She even went as far as Consulting dark Web to find out what she wanted to find. She kept on stumbling upon vampires werewolves witches and all sorts of supernatural beings. She was really confused on which one Javier was.

Of course, she found nothing but she was a hundred percent sure that Javier and Bella were working hand-in-hand and they were not human. And she also had a feeling that they knew the person that was after her life very well. The signs were there but she did not take notice of it. The way Javier spoke about her protection in a way  that felt like he knew the person who was after her life. As if he knew everything about what was happening.

Hattie finally concluded in her mind of her Discovery even though she did not make out what they exactly where.

She didn't let that bother the relationship she had with Javier. Even though he was not like her, he still cared about her and he still try his best not to hurt her even though it seems very hard for him. She was going to find out everything though she just had  to

Presently: a while ago

Hattie was still on the bed when she heard an aggressive banging on the door. She stretched her arms tiredly as she let out a yawn.

Why was  Javier banging so hard on the door?.

She rubbed her eyes with the back of her Palms, trying to get the sleep out of her eyes. She walked slowly, dragging her feet to the door as she finally opened the door to a terrifying looking Javier.

He was just the way he was, the other night when she came here after the shocking discovery she made at Bella's house but this time, he looked more terrifying and scary.

She stepped back few paces, trying to get away from him as soon as she knew he wasn't himself.

He kept on proceeding towards her and she couldn't decipher the look in his eyes.

Then she suddenly realised that running away from him wasn't going to save the situation. But trying to calm him down was going to and that was what happened the other night and it worked. She proceeded in walking towards him. She could see the way he tried so hard to fight what was in him but she could see that what was in him what's greater than him self. She had wondered how long he had lived like this. Her life had been a a mess but she realised that his life could have been probably worse, having to deal with this kind of thing.

She felt hot tears rolled down her cheek as she shared his pain. She stopped in front of him as she raised her hands to his cheeks, placing it Softly against his skin. She noticed how his became hesitant and how he staggered backwards as he fell to the floor in agony.

She bent down to his level as she held his chin with her palm. There was no doubt anymore. All her assumption were right. She looked into his eyes, then she finally spoke.

"You are not human" she said. Something flickered in his eyes that she could not comprehend

"Tell me Javier, what are you, tell me everything? You know I'm not going to let you brush this off like you always do"

Javier stood up from where he was. He paced few times before he turned to look at her. He breath in, then he finally spoke

"I'm a lashedta" he looked at Hattie who had a look of confusion on her face. " I am a rare dangerous, mystical being" he added

"How dangerous"

"Very dangerous, too dangerous"

"Would you hurt me?"

"I could never, you are too precious"

"What if I don't mind about you being different"

"You have to"

"What if I don't want to"

"You are too good for me anyways"

"What makes you say that?"

"Because am too dangerous"

"You said you won't hurt me, so why should I care?"

"Hattie you won't understand"

"Make me understand"

"My life is a mess"

"I want to be a part of that mess"
