Chapter 21

This Is called, taming the ruthless boss and she was good at it. She turned around, swiftly as she proceeded toward her room. 

Javier couldn't help but smile at her childishnes. She even called him bossy, how silly could she have been. He smiled as he walked over to his drink stand and grabbed a tequila. He poured it into his cup and drank it slowly, still thinking about her. He was still on his tequila when he felt a cold wind at his back he turned around and didn't see anybody but deep down he knew that someone was there and it could only be one person, capable of playing this kind of tricks. He breathed in rapidly as anger flooded him. how dare Andrew come into his house after all the stunts he has pulled on lately.

"Andrew show yourself this minute" Javier growled in Anger as he looked around waiting for Andrew to show up so that he could Devour him.

Andrew let out a chuckle as he finally revealed himself. Javier was about charging towards him when Andrew stopped him. 

"I came here to talk"

"And I don't have the patience to talk"

"Well you would, after hearing what I have to say" Andrew said to Javier who was now standing in front of him with anger written all over his face.  

"What do you have to say" Javier snapped at Andrew 

"Oh please, why are you trying to act like the good guy here, you and I know that we are just basically the same thing "

"Say that thing one more time and I will rip your heart right out of the socket, this minute"

"That's kind of sweet coming from a person who almost murdered a girl, an innocent girl" Andrew said putting emphasis on the 'innocent" trying to make Javier know what he was talking about.

Javier was really astonished by the statement. What was he talking about and which girl was he talking about?.

"What innocent girl are you talking about?"

"Oh I forgot a lashedta  in season can't remember the atrocities he committed" Andrew teased trying to anger Javier the more.

"What atrocity are you talking about?" Javier asked, squinting his eyes in confusion. 

"I'm saying that you almost killed a person"

"And why would I believe everything that you say?"

"Oh please, you know you can't doubt me fully because there is a probability that you attacked somebody during season and you seem to have lost the memory. So sad" 

"I would never hurt a woman"

"Well you did, and she's currently at the hospital because of you" Andrew smiled keenly at him.

"Why do I have a feeling that you are behind this. That you caused this"

"No Javier, I did not cause it, you did, with your hands and I had nothing to do with it. You see, that is what I  always said. We are more alike than you think, just drop all this act and accept it".

"You are sick"

"How is Hattie?"

"Now listen to me. About Hattie, I don't care what transpired between your family and her mother but you should really keep Hattie out of this equation or else you will not like the outcome"  

"That sounds fun, you know I always like a little drama" Andrew said further angering Javier.

"Don't even dare me"

"Javier do you really think we would let her go after what her mother had Done"

"You cannot punish her for the sins of her mother, she doesn't even know anything about it. You have already punished her mother, why bring her into this?"

"I intend on wiping out Agatha's entire generation and I will do so" Andrew snapped at Javier who was looking furiously at him.

"And you think I would let that happen, under my watch?"

"I don't care how much you love this girl but, I will put an end to her and you will watch it. You will watch her die, slowly and painfully and you will not be able to do anything about it" Andrew said which made Javier growl in Anger. He punched Andrew hard on the face which made Andrew Stagger few steps back. Andrew place his hands on his lips as you realise the was bleeding. He smirked as he looked at Javea who was already boiling in Anger. 

"It baffles me how easily you could get triggered because of that girl"

"Trust me this is not the worst that I can do. If you are as well as much touch a single Strand of her hair, I will hunt you down and I will find you and I will kill you" 

"We'll see about that" Andrew said as he vanished.

 Javier ran his hands through his hair in frustration as he smashed the bottle of tequila along with the cup against the wall.

The cause of the agitation and the noise caused Hattie to come running down from the stairs. She wondered what the fuse was all about. She looked at Javier who was standing, Palms on the wall as he leans towards the wall. He looked really angry and she wondered what was the cause.

"Javier is anything the problem?" she said as she walked slowly towards him" 

"Leave this minute Hattie" he ordered 

"What's wrong, did you perhaps hear of any bad news?"

"I said leave!" he shouted angrily as he turned towards her. She felt her soul jump right out of our body as a result of the sudden raising of voice.

"I'm not leaving until you tell me what happened. You don't look too good"

"And I don't want you here, can't you just understand this? I am in a very terrible mood and I don't want anybody to be around"

"Then why were you making a hell of noise?. I was just about sleeping when I heard the Smashing of bottles and all. If you wanted to be angry and did not want to be disturbed, then you should have not called for my attention."

"I don't even know what to do with you anymore" Javier in frustration.

"You don't have to do anything, just keep your voice down" she said glaring at him.

Javier was short of words by the audacity of the lady standing in front of him. He was really astonished by himself, he was really changing, he was really getting more softer and softer by the day and she was the medicine for it.

"Remember we made a deal?" He said in a bid to remind her

"Of course i do, and I am not being stubborn"

"Please do well to explain to me what you are portraying"

"I'm just voicing out what I hate"

"And what is that, if i may ask?"

"I don't like you raising your voice at me"

"I wasn't"

"Yes you were"

"I was just talking"

"If that's your talking voice, then I won't like to hear your angry voice" Hattie said sarcastically 

"Hattie, look" he said as he slowly toward her. He stopped just few inches away from her. "I am a man of action, I act more than talking. So if I shout at you, it means you mean something to me" he said as he placed his hand under her chin. Hattie gulped

"What do you mean by that?" Hattie said still trying keep her cool.

"Well darling, you would have to figure it out yourself" he said with a devious smirk planted on his face.

"I don't like how close you are to me" Hattie lied. Truth was that, she couldn't control the feeling she felt when he came to close to her, it always felt like she was floating on Disney land.

"Did you just lie, Hattie?" He said as he proceeded more closely towards her. "your reaction earlier today, was much more differnt from this"   Javier said with a slight smile.

 Hattie couldn't help but flush in embarrassment as memories of the Intimacy came flooding into her head.

"I don't understand"

"You don't understand what?"

"Why did you kiss me earlier?"

"I thought you liked it" Javier said going back to where he was seated earlier.

"What I meant was, we are not dating and you keep doing all these things"

"So you liked it"

"I never said that"

"You never said you never denied it also"

"Just answer the question"

"Hattie, we can't be what you want us to be"

"Why?" she couldn't help but ask as she already felt the ache in her heart.

"Because" he paused as he breathed out, trying to relive himself. "Am not good for you"

"Why do you keep saying that?"

"Trust me, if you knew me very well, you would never even think of ever having anything to do with me"

"Then tell me, I am tired of being kept in the dark by you and Bella. I demand to know everything this minute"

"Know what?"

"Every thing that is going on with you"

"Like what?"

"The things you keep hiding from me"

"I am not hiding anything from you" he lied.

"Oh really. Do you think I was born yesterday?"

"No one ever said that"

"You are hiding alot of things from me and I can't help but be curious"

"Hattie, not telling you some certain things, is for you own protection and nothing else

"Oh please I am tired of hearing all this protection nonsense"

"Trust me Hattie, it's for your own good" 

"But ..... b...." She slurred as she held her head, closing her eyes, she stepped few steps backward before finally falling to the floor. Javier was about rushing towards her when Bella appeared In front of her body

"You don't need to worry, I did this" Bella said pointing her index finger towards Hattie.

"What for?" Javier growled at Bella 

"She was as inquisitive as fuck and I knew it would not take long before you start giving answers to those questions"

"Am not that stupid"

"They say, love can do many things. That girl is already starting to have a hold on you"

"I wonder how she does it" 

"You need to be careful with this girl"

"And what brings you here?" Javier asked totally ignoring the statement that she had made.

"I was thinking lately, Hattie might carry her mother's blood and that could be very bad"

"So you came here to tell me that"

"No I did not come to see you, I came to check and confirm for myself if my assumptions were right"

"I can't let you do that"

"Why, are you scared of the outcome?"

"Of course I'm not. I just don't want to bring her into all of this. If she is what we think she is, then we will have to tell her and that will be a huge Discovery in her life and it will most definitely change her"

"So you are just going to ignore this"

"I will, as much as I can"

"Do you realise How absurd that even sounds"

"It's just my decision, I don't intend on dragging her into anything that she wouldn't want" he said as he looked at Hattie who was still lying or unconsciously on the floor. 

"You know Andrew stopped by" Javea blurted out.

"That bastard, I can't believe he even had the audacity to show his face after all the things he had done"

"I thought so too, but he mentioned something rather disturbing"

"Like what?"

"Something about me almost killing a girl"

"Did you?"

"I can't remember but he could be right, what if it happened when I was in season?"

"There was a girl that Hattie was talking about, that was attacked in the night and you were in season that same night, could it be that it could be the girl?"

"I don't know, but Hattie  mention something about a girl that was attacked in a restaurant at night and I had a feeling that I could be you but I wasn't too sure" Bella added

"But what if it is me?" 

"I don't know Javier, but I think Andrew told you that for a reason"

"I just can't keep up with that guy" Javier said

"Did he say anything else?"

"He kept on saying how we are alike" Javier stated leaving out the part when they talked about Hattie and her mother.

"Why would he even say that"

"To be honest, I don't know but I think he is up to something Andrew wouldn't come here for no reason. He knows how badly I want to kill him so he wouldn't risk it by coming here just to deliver that message I think he's up to something" 

"Andrew is always up to something so that's not a new news"

" Do you think Lawson knows about this?"

"Probably, they work hand in hand and I am not sure Andrew will keep the information to himself"

"We both know how Lawson can be so corny. Gosh I really hate that guy Bella said with disgust with me all over her face"

"Andrew knows that he cannot take down the both of us so he probably could have told Lawson to back him up"

"When do you think he is most likely to strike?"

I don't know I can't even think clearly right now. I almost lost it when he came here, I mean the audacity"

"You should know by now, that the cartels fear no one"

"And they just keep testing my patience"

"That is what they are best known for"

"So what should we do?"

"If you just stick to my original plan of me checking Hattie and making sure she is normal, then this problem would have been half solved" 

 "And I strongly oppose your offer"

"There is nothing to be scared of, it's not like she will change, she would still be the same Hattie that you used to know. I just need to confirm my assumptions"

"Why do you want to check it so badly"

"Because I still doubt all of this and I really need to confirm"

"Do you really think she would lie about her mother's identity. She is not a kid, she probably knows who her mother is"

"I never said she's a lier. it's just so hard to believe that Agatha is her mother"

"It is also shocking for me too but I just want to drop this. I don't want to push it more than it is already. It would be better if you just left things unknown. I'm sure my life would have been much better if I never found out who I was"

"I don't think so, you were too curious to know and I had to give you answers and I'm sure if you did not know, you would have been so confused and would go and seek answers from other places. So there is no way you could have stayed without knowing who you were. It was what you were destined to be"

"Well it can be hard sometimes. In fact every time. I just wish everything would just go away in my sleep"

"I wish things were easier done than said"

"I wish so too" Javier said as he turned to look at Hattie who was still laying on the floor.
