27.
She hesitated at first, not knowing how to respond to him, she had walked away earlier and she really doesn't want to have anything to do with him.
"This place is a very dangerous place, you cannot stay here, please come in let me drop you"
She looked at her daughter and she knew she had to, she too was very scared, she didn't know where she was or how she would make it to get to her home, she was familiar with her area, but where she found herself, it was like she was hundred miles away from home.
She opened the car door and first put Angel inside before putting her bag inside the car. As she sat down she felt relieved a bit, she had been scared earlier, she didn't know how to react and she would probably not know how to scream even if the man that was approaching her had succeeded in coming close to her, he would have stollen from her and that would have disorganized her. For once she was grateful to Joseph, he had come at the right time just the way he had always shown up for her at the right time just that those other times he was deceiving her, he was helping her because he wanted something in return, he was helping her because he wanted to have her in his bed in some far away town. She remembered how shameless she had moaned and screamed his name, she never thought she could feel that way ever again, she never even felt that way with Andrew, yet she had felt it with Joseph, a total stranger, she was supposed to be irritated but instead she had been happy to go crazy with him. She even forgot her daughter and her past to face a false future.
'Where do you want to go to?
He finally asked after they had been on the way for like thirty minutes.
"Drop me off where you picked me from, I want to see my husband, if he will accept me back, I want to stay with him and fight for him"
She expected him to try and convince her not to like he used to but he surprised her and looked away. She became so upset because that only confirmed her earlier suspicion. He had gotten what he wanted and now he no longer cared if she was hurt or not, if Andrew was the ideal man for her or not.
She waited for him to say something but instead he smiled at Angel from the front mirror and Angel who was standing now also smiled back, then he handed her a box of chocolates. She would have told her daughter not to take anything from him but she didn't want to add to the pain that would be experienced in the future because her plans was for them never to see him again.
" Will you tell Andrew what happened?
That was not the sort of question she was expecting from him, she never thought he was scared but with him asking she suspected that he also didn't want Andrew to know about their one night affair. She hated the situation she was in, she never thought in her wildest dreams that she would ever cheat on her husband, let alone lie to him. To think that she didn't just cheat on her husband with some random guy, she cheated on him with her gynecologist, her husband's friend.
