Chapter 49

Joseph had expected the question and so he had prepared his answer. He gathered himself, he couldn't be shaking like this infront of his fellow man. 

"Wait what? How can you even think that?

His expression looked convincing and Andrew relaxed. He took a deep breath and sighed out loud. It felt like a relief for him to know that nothing happened between his wife and Joseph.

"I am sorry, I shouldn't have come on you like that, I just wanted to be sure of the people I call my friend"

Andrew was apologising. He had been through a lot of pressure lately and it had started to tell on him.

Joseph was really surprised to hear Andrew apologising. 

It made him feel more guilty.

He couldn't be angry with him forever, what Happened between them was years ago and should stay in that year, in the past not follow them to their future. The only problem he was having now was his feelings for Anna keeps growing by the hour and even with Andrew there in front of him, he still wants to hear from Anna 

The way she told him to get lost sounded so romantic.

She didn't sound serious. And to think that she was always acting so fragile only made him feel his protective arm was all she needs.

"You don't have to apologise to me Mr Andrew.

"Please stop it with all the formalities already.

We have been friends from way back. 

You know you can call me Andrew"

Andrew wants to hate him but he was acting so wonderful that his act was making him feel guilty about what he had done.

"Maybe I should just give him poison so he would just die" He thought to himself, because the way things were going, it would not be long before the entire Anderson would find out about what he had done and would soon come for him.

"Alright then Andrew. So how is Angel and Mrs Andrew?

"Well, Angel   looks fine. Though I cannot say that about my wife. She seems to be distance. Even though I tried to get into ate with her you see, she responded well though but I still feel she is not happy"

Joseph adjusted in his seat and could swear his eyes would tear up if he blinks too much.

He was boiling and soon he started to sweat. The air conditioner was on yet he was sweating.

He was actually just angry that Andrew touched Anna.

He was getting jealous of what was not originally his.

He thought about giving him the poison.

"I know what you are thinking, I didn't do it directly. Even though she wanted me to go direct into her, she didn't seem to care about the disease but I gave her satisfaction with my hands. It's been a while I saw my wife moan that way. I was happy j could still make her feel such warmth"

Now this was already too much for Joseph to handle, he grabbed the hand fan close to him. When he started fanning himself he saw that it was a file now a fan like he had thought.

"Are you okay,?you don't look too well.

What a misplaced profession. To think that a patient came to the hospital to ask the doctor if he was okay.

"Yes I am fine, I think I just need to rest, I have been under pressure lately"

He lied.

Hoping he would just leave and not talk about Anna anymore.

"Well I don't know what you told her but since she came back home, I think I owe you.

Why don't we hang out, just like we used to do back then when we  were in school and the gang would want you to solve some physics problem for them and then you would always show up band solve mine first and then every one wanted to be with us and be friends with us"

All what he was saying was not getting into Joseph.

He was feeling sick already.

He was about to throw up infront of him if he doesn't leave any time soon.

"Maybe next time I need to treat myself first.

"Alright then, I will leave you then. Thanks again"

He said as he stood up to leave but then he stopped at the door and looked back at him calmly.

"Please take care of yourself"

Joseph nodded and was relieved the next moment as he heard the door.

'thank Goodness he left. I thought he was never going to leave'

Joseph said to himself as he quickly grabbed his phone.

He dialed Anna's number and she picked on the first ring.

"Why are you pestering me? 

You are really beginning to get on my nerves and you will really not like what I would do next.

"So you allowed him touch you.

He caught her in, he sounded hurt, his voice cracked as he tried to gather his next line of sentence.

"I thought what we had meant something to you, why did you allow him touch you?

At first Anna didn't know what he was saying but as she kept quiet to pay more attention she could deduce what he was trying to say.

"Are you insane?

"Yes I am insane, I am insane for you.

Can't you see that you are driving me insane?

"Joseph you are pushing me, I will report you to my husband and then you will let me be.

"I am not afraid of him.

I almost told him about it today.

It hurts me to hear that he had his hands on your body.

He was even happy to say you were happy and calling his name.

"But you were calling my name yesterday too.

"I am going to have to block you. You have gone mad. I cannot believe I allowed a mad person like you take me to bed yesterday. Well k don't blame myself, it was all you, you drugged me. Just imagine what your life would look like when you are arrested and taken to court for Drug a d rape. It would look so nice on your resume. If you call me again, you will be hearing from the Anderson's lawyer"

As she didn't hear his voice on the other line she made to end the call but heard his light sobb.

"But I love you"

But before she could respond her husband walked in.
