Chapter 70
Anna was taken aback at what he just said.
She had her suspicions about how she was able to just fall into his traps but she had been trying to convince herself all along that he too was carried away. Maybe he too had more than enough to drink.
The image of that night of both of them making love have never left her mind because, she had never been able to forgive herself.
"You what?
She finally turned around to face him.
She started moving close to him taking one step at a time.
Joseph you mean you lied to my husband?
Joseph could not find his voice.
He wanted to tell her first and then talk to Andrew later.
He was going to tell him it was a mistake on his part.
He was going to say the truth by lieing again.
"Why Joseph?
"Why did you do this?
I trusted you like a brother.
You were like a best friend to me and I had no problem with you why did you do this to my family?
Do you know that I cannot sleep at night because of what happened at the green house?
How then could you sleep when you had known all along that my husband was not dieing yet you lied to him.
You wanted to kill him, why not put a bullet in his head?
Why not put him staright to sleep with a pill.
Why kill him slowly?
She fell on the floor and sat there crying.
Why, why, why. She continued to cry and then Joseph made a move towards her to console her but she grabbed the remote control and threw it at him.
"Don't you even dare touch me!
You are a monster. You are wicked and you will get the reward of your wickedness.
To think that my husband have never stopped crying.
You separated us and then you coerced me into sleeping with you. Your sins are enormous Joseph and you must pay.
Joseph allowed her to vent.
She needed it. She was right about everything she was saying and he was no fool.
He knew what he was doing was wrong and he had heard the inner voice preaching to him to let go and forgive so that he could have a peace of mind but he refused. His need for revenge had destroyed Jim in more ways than one.
"Just answer me one question"
She said. Wiping her tears and slowly getting up from the floor.
Joseph was all ears, he was going to tell her everything and anything she wanted to know.
"Did I offend you?
He nodded in the negative and looked down.
He didn't even want to tell her that he did it to take revenge on her husband because there was no way he would express his thought well that he would not still be the guilty one.
"You never offended me as a matter of fact, meeting you changed me"
He said trying to patronize her but she cut him in almost immediately.
"You mean sleeping with me against my will changed you?
