Chapter 69
Andrew was done with his farewells and his father allowed him a moment with Anna.
He hugged and kissed her lightly on the lips.
"I will be back soonest okay"
She nodded.
"Now you be a good girl"
She also nodded, Soon enough they were in the back of a limo on their way to the airport.
Anna watched then remembered when she used to enter a Jalopy with her father.
He would take her to school with so much pride and her friends would always mock her that her father rides a Jalopy.
Miles stayed back to take Anna home, but she refused to go with anyone, she told him she could go on her own. and like others, she soon left the Anderson mansion.
She got home, there were letters waiting for her to read outside the box.
Most times they would get home to be welcomed with lots of suggestions, about how to do one thing or the other in the larger area.
Most times it would be people who needed help and they needed Andrew to help.
Anna had to form a group where she gather widows in the community and help them.
Her husband was initially not in support of what she was doing saying that the world was evil and people only pay back good with evil but he still supported her and soon his wife's name and his name was ringing bells on the City where they lived.
Anna later picked up the letter not sure if this was one of the usual suggestion or request letter because it was well wrapped and addressed to her.
But there were too many if them addressed to her.
She picked the first one, and it was from the last person she wanted to hear from.
'What a mood spoiler'
she said as she opened it to read. She wanted to sit at the garden, but the sun was too harsh on the skin that if she stays there any longer she might lose her sight.
She opened it and started to read as she walked into the house.
The guards were everywhere like usual, so she wondered how they allowed a stranger stay in the house waiting for her because the moment she opened the door Joseph was in her house sitting on her sofa and sipping water.
"What are you doing here, and how did you get in?
"They let me in, I hope I am welcomed"
The guards soon left to give them some privacy.
"They know that I am Andrew's doctor, so they let me in.
"What if I had walked in with my husband?
"I know he is on his way outside the country, so I decided to come see you and tell you something before he finds it out.
"What is it?
Anna didn't like the person with her in the house, but she just couldn't ask him to go.
"Wait! How did you know my husband is about to travel?
"I had someone watch over him, so I know.
"Who is that, and why are you watching my husband?
Her questions were too much that Joseph didn't know which one to answer first.
"Anna, I want to make everything right, all the things I am doing now is because of you, I want to keep you even if it is as a friend, I don't want to lose you.
Anna was getting bored with his tales. She rolled her eyes and then spoke with all the firmness she could gather.
"What is it?
When Joseph saw that he could not calm her.
He tried to move close to her, but she stepped back and tried to stop him with her hands.
"Stay where you are else, I will scream. Now answer me before I scream anyways.
"What is it?
This time her voice was loud enough to bring in a guard who came rushing towards them but when he got in he saw the both looking at each other.
One had an angry look while the other had a caring look.
"I lied and k am sorry. I lied about everything, but I don't know how I am going to make it right.
"What did you lie about?
This was a very heavy word in his mouth. It felt like he was about to tell her he killed someone. What he did was surely stronger than killing because he was killing the person slowly.
She was running out of patient. She made to move away and keep him standing, but he said.
