Chapter 184

At the Brian's Estate., Ariana wanted to feed the children, before they take their afternoon nap, but she could tell that Brian was watching her, she did not want to look his way, she was worried, that Cassandra might misunderstand her.

She had already warned her, she did not want to do whatever will get her angry, she looks like someone who would give her trouble and she did not want to fall a victim.

She had undergone too much trouble just been the wife of Alex and now, she was about to face another trouble.

Not like she thought he liked her, his face does not hold any message or emotions, she could not even tell what his looks was all about, but she could tell that he pitied her. It was obvious, she could tell that he felt pity for her, he was always looking at her that way, it felt like he wanted to make her happy. Like she was some kid of a baby that needed to be cared for.

Any kind hearted man would want to make her happy, she was no trouble at all.

But she could not accept anything from Brian, all she wants from him is to hide her from Alex, she did not want to see him again, till he dies or something.

She hated herself for wishing him death, but she had almost killed him the other time.

"When was the last time you visited the rose garden? He asked her, and she turned to meet his eyes.

She had not been there since the last time he took her there, she was worried, she was not sure if he would be happy to have her there, even though, she had told him to go there whenever she pleases.

She was done with her work, she wish she would have a time to herself to go there.

She blinked as she looked at him again, she wanted to describe his eyes, but she could not, umbut all she could say was that..

They were so enchanting and the way he blinks when he talks speaks louder to her ears. She did not want to get into trouble with Cassandra, but she could already see herself in trouble.

Thinking about how his eyes looks was trouble, feeling happy, but scared around him was enough trouble too, she could see trouble lurking around her, she was going to be really careful with what she feels, else, he might just be another Alex in her life.

Her thoughts were running wide, she could not look at him, she was scared of those eyes, yet she wish she could just see them everyday, she could not be wanting her boss, could she? She heard him clear his throat to talk, and she looked up at him.

"I have told you many times to look at me when we talk, stop acting like you are a slave, this house is your house now, you should be free to go where ever it is you want to go".

Hearing him refer to the house as hers, made her feel special. Alex had always reminded her of where she came from, and how slave like she was, and how he was doing her a favour for marrying her.

She smiled and bowed her head, saying thank you.

She did not know how to converse with her boss, so she just takes sign language with him.

"So answer me, when last did you go to the rose garden? He asked again, this time, he was facing her, standing directly opposite her, he continued.

The other time, you asked me if you could go there everyday and I said you could, but I noticed that you have not visited there after then". He was asking, because he wanted to see her happy, she had looked so happy the other time he had taken her there.

He could not explain the way he felt the day he first saw her smile, it was in the dark, but her set of teeth had been so complementing, that when she smiled, they were genuine.

"I have been too busy taking care of the kids and they are much more adorable, than all the roses put together". She meant what she just said, those kids were everything to her, she could not ask for a better reason to be busy.

"Now that they are sleeping, can we go there together? He asked, his voice was calm, she looked up at him, wondering why he was suddenly sounding so sweet to her, he speaks with authority and he commands so much respect.

She was still lost in her thought, that she had not digested his question, she had not given him a reply, before she saw him pull her out of the children's room and he walked with her, holding her hand.

The same man who just spoke with the most charming voice to her a while ago, pulled her out dragging her like he was about going to slaughter her.

She followed him behind, trying to catch up with him was war, he pulled her away, he was not as gentle as he acts, his hands were sometimes harsh while at other times, they were always gentle.

They got there and he finally released her hand.

She started looking round again, her mood had changed, she looked so different, she was glowing in the deem light of the rose garden.

She smiles at him. That was what he wanted, and it was only when she was in this rose garden, that she smiles with him, but if she was outside, she would always look like she was doing so much, like she was stressed.

"I like the way you smile". He said and she immediately stopped, he was looking at her again, she did not like it, she did not want to see him as nice, all the masculine gender are wicked.

You should smile often you know, I think it is good for your health, infact it is good for everybody.

"I don't have any reason to smile". She finally and the looked away.

"Why would you say that? He asked, getting himself a place to seat on the floor.

She was still looking around, she saw a rose that was almost dead.

"Oh my love". She said,  and he looked up at her, surprised.

What? He asked, but she did not pay attention to him, she saw the tap close to the wall, she had not noticed it the last time, was there. she got some water, and started to feed the Roses with it.

"You sure love Roses". He said and she nodded her head, she remembered what he said about nodding her head and giving him sign languages, and she decided to speak up.

"Yes I do, they are free, they hold no grudge, and you cannot be an enemy to them, you can only love them".

He sat on the floor, watching her care for the Rose, then the plants were also watered.

"I think you are through? He asked, and she nodded. Maybe you should come and sit next to me, I want to ask you a question". He said, and made space for her to sit close to him.

She folded her hands together, and moved briskly towards him. She sat few inches away from him, but he pulled her close.

"I am not going to bite you" he said and she quickly shrugged herself out, she did not like the force with which he used to pull her close, every forceful action, used to feel to her, as Alex's hands on her.

"I want to take you to the hospital". He said, she looked at him and blinked, she wondered if she looked that bad, for him to want to have her tested.

"Am I sick? She asked, looking at him, straight into his eyes, they were so close that they were only few inches from each other.

"I just want to make sure you are okay, so that, I can then take you out for shopping after then, you need to change the things you wear". He said, trying to euphemise his tone, he did not want her to feel like he was accusing her of being sick or have a disease.

"When are my going for the test? She asked, looking away to the opposite direction.

"The doctor will come here, Cassandra is going to come with him, I have informed her already".

She stood up and turned to face, she was angry, it was obvious, she even wanted to cry.

"You think I am sick?  She said, with tears in her eyes, she was no longer looking down, she was looking straight into his eyes.

You know, (she wanted to say something, but then stopped herself.) Never mind, I will be waiting for the doctor". She said and walked away.

He watched her leave, he was sad, because she had the same look he had been trying to avoid, that look that suggested she was angry.
