Chapter 28

The sight of people making out in the library shocks the hell out of me. Oakley laughs at my expression and I wonder how she could possibly laugh at such a time like this. "You left Eras here?" I ask Scott and he nods.

"Don't be afraid, your fairytale prince wasn't doing this when I left him, although I don't know what he's doing now...." Scott says trailing off. I don't know why my breath suddenly catches in my throat. We leave the group of aged people who can't get a sense of decency no matter how this school tries to make itself decent.

I mean a teacher could walk in on them anytime from now. The library is more like a big hall and it's divided into sections. I want to ask Scott where exactly he left Eras but he doesn't seem to be in the mood to talk. I don't know what all that's about. We get to the fantasy section where mostly freshers read during thier leisure time. When you have enough classes on your hands you can't breathe, you'll come to the realisation that there is no leisure time anymore, and so the fantasy section is only useful to those who have little to no classes, as I'm sure Eras does right now.

Sure enough we find him reading a book that catches my eyes. He's not alone though. Britney is there with half her cleavage sticking out and trying to talk in her most seductive manner. Eras just ignores her with his face glued to the book, and I can't help but find the sight funny.

Oakley let's out a snort and holds back her laughter as Britney's head snaps towards us. She looks shocked and Oakley waves her hands appologetically "Sorry, Sorry. Imagine we're not here. Now Continue" Britney positively turns red at this and turns away walking towards the other side of the library, no doubt to take a roundabout turn as she avoids even further embarrasment. Oakleys laughter trails her as she makes her exit and I can't help but smile too.

"You'll get yourself killed before the day ends". I tell her and she Snickers. "The person that can kill me hasn't been born yet". The retort ends up making me smile even wider as I bring my attention to Eras.

He looks sad, like someone who is downcast. "What's wrong I say?" Tousling his hair in a weirdly affectionate gesture. He shrugs and sighs totally not minding the way I've messed up his hair slighty. We all sit and I pick up the book he was reading "you're reading tales of the unbroken?" I ask and he smiles. "It's a nice book". I shake my head and I just can't get what it is with boys and fights. The book is full of them, conspiracies too. He still looks like there's a thundercloud over his head, and my brain thinks of the best way to cheer him up.

I don't like the way I'm getting myself oddly endeared to this boy but it just seems I can't help it. He looks oddly cute when he's sad. I snatch my hands away before I mess up his hair some more. "Want a tour?" I ask. His eyes sparkle with delight at my suggestion and I shake my head. Definitely trouble.
