Chapter 27

My aunt has never come to our school before. She wouldn't, even if it was burning. I heard she has some bad memories made here.

Why she still brought us here I'll never know. She looks at my face and seems satisfied that they show no sign of crying, well crying recently though. I give her a smile and she only looks at us warily like she was silently debating something in her head. "I'm leaving town for a while" she says. Most kids would be happy that thier guardian gets to leave town but it just doesn't create any sort of reaction in me. Instead I'm surprised, suprised and suspicious.

" I need to know I can trust you guys" she continues looking from me to Scott and then oh so dangerously at Oakley. Oakley bursts out laughing at this and I can't help but hold back a few bouts of laughter myself. My aunt smiles and looks to the skies like she was asking the world what she was possibly going to do with us. Her actions make us all laugh and I can feel myself breathing a bit easier again.

"On a more serious note. I'm leaving town for two weeks, Scott's in charge because he's basically the only one I can trust out of all of you. The house is stocked with food and please try not to burn the place down. No house parties, no house guests, no suspicious activity of any sort. The curfew still stands and anybody that isn't home by nine will have to spend thier night where they were coming from. I'll be watching everything that happens so don't think to pull a fast one. Any questions?". Her orders are clear enough and surprisingly it's the same set that we had followed ever since we had gotten here.

She's kind but strict and it's easy to get used to. She places a peck on our forehead one for each person, but leaves Scott out. "That's for killing Gabanna". She says walking out into the parking lot. "I'm not the one that killed her" Scott says wearing an offended expression but the moment my aunt drives away it turns into a smile followed by the words "I'm sure glad she's dead though". I shake my head at the comment and look around for Eras. "Where's Eras?" I ask and I can see the expression on Scott's face become ugly "You guys fought I'm guessing?" I say and Scott looks away. "He's in the library" he says and I sigh. "Come on let's go find him" and Scott groans dramatically. "Since when is little Adonis our problem?" He asks and I smile at him "Since our aunt asked us to watch him and he drove me to school in a Bugatti".

An oooooh escapes Oakley's mouth as we turn back and make for the library. Eyes follow us as we pass and I feel like a warrior queen. We get to the library and what I see shocks me.
