Chapter 35

The next morning has me in a considerably happy mood as I go about preparing for what this morning might bring.

I wash my teeth, bathe, and I'm about packing my hair when Oakley comes rushing in. "What do you think you are doing?" she asks and I give her a confused expression. "I still have school in case you haven't noticed, and I'm not as free as everyone else, and I'm also not stupid enough to skip school for you" I tell her.

She wears a disappointed expression and it makes me realise that was exactly what she was hoping for. She was hoping for me to skip school, and follow up on whatever silly adventure she had in her head.

"You know you'll be missing out on a lot" she says and I grin. "My future is better than a lot" I tell her and I can hear her let out a groan.

"I'll go ask Scotty" she says and I smile at her folly, like hell you will, as if my brother would ever agree to following Oakley off on one of her games even if he was free from school. "He'd never do it" I say and she smiles.

I really don't know how both of them get along, but I'm sure there's a sort of secret arrangement between them, don't mess with me and I won't mess with you, that sort of stuff.

I'm ready for school and I go to Scott's room so I can I ask if he's going to be leaving with me.

I can still hear the shower's running and the image of an utterly confounded Gabanna assails my vision. I crack up laughing from the sort of shock she might have experienced when she saw what she saw.

The way my mind instantly strays to that whitch of a dog brings back memories. I think of the many countless times the little dog has managed to ruin my life. Well she wasn't so little as much as she was fat. She was fat and disgusting and she pooped over all my clothes.

Aron never liked her and so I didn't like her too, but now I wonder if my sudden hatred for her was because of Aron.

I scofft as that was something that I agreed on by myself. Gabanna was an evil little thing and I'm glad she's gone. I can still imagine my aunt wearing all black to commemorate a dog's death. Mourning for the evil thing that seemed to behave nicely only when she was around, the rest of the time it was just a sassy little princess who would eat your food and then leave the rest of it on the floor, and when you came to meet her, she would look at you with a sort of bitchy  look, like what the hell are you going to do babe.

I can hear the door opening and Scott comes out of the showers, his black hair is dripping wet and almost looks like it's been melted, his smooth skin almost shimmers from the hot water he has used to bathe, and the smoke coming off his body does nothing to help his image.

My brother is fine as hell, but for some reason he hasn't gotten anybody to be with him for the past, well since ever. I've never seen Scott look at someone that way before, and I smile as he wears and irritated expression in his eyes.

"Ready for school?" I ask and he let's out a surprisingly humorous groan.
