Chapter 41

Bryce begins to move dangerously close to me, as he grabs my hands and holds them captive. I've bitten more than I can chew at this point and I look to anyone for help.

Bryce smiles his sleaziest smile at me, and I can't help but feel my hands trembling. Aron catches my eyes and I can see the grim satisfaction in his, even though his face tellls a different story. He's happy this Is happening to me, and i can see it no matter how much he tries to hide it.

I hear the way a jaw snaps back, as the face that was an inch near mine just a minute ago flies back carrying it's owner with it. I can't seem to understand what's happening at first, and then I look up to see the warmest ash eyes I've ever seen staring back at me with a concerned look on his face.

Bryce looks at both of us with an incredulous look in his eyes, and I can see him getting ready to cause hell. I look to my saviour and I can't help but silently ask the question with my eyes. Why did you have to put me In more trouble than I'd have been in before?.

Bryce gets ready for his comeback as I can see his hand form themselves into fists, but before he can get the chance to begin swinging them, the teacher enters the class and looks at us with a suprised look in her eyes.

She seems to stare at my knight in shining armor and shakes her head disappointedly. "Of all the days to get into trouble, you choose today Clay?" The familiarity in her voice suprises me, and for a moment I can't seem to grasp onto what my mind wants me to so desperately notice.

The fact that Bryce's lip is split and he seems to be red from rage dosen't make me sorry for him In the least, instead I feel my chest getting tight whenever I look at him, Clay.

It's a wierd name to give a child don't you think and I almost wonder why his parents chose it. My mind keeps on reminding me it has something to say but for the moment I decide to ignore it as my attention is fixated solely on the amount of trouble he could get in because of me.

It's common knowledge that fights are impossible to avoid, but if you ever do get into scruffles, make sure a teacher never catches you. Most of the time they never do, but when they do you know you've messed up this once, and you're going to pay dearly for it.

"He didn't do anything" I hear myself saying. The teacher, one of the new interns at school looks at me suspiciously.

"Punish me, he only punched Bryce because I had provoked him and he was about to do something stupid" the words come out of my mouth like they'd been rehearsed and I want to punch myself.

"Unfortunately miss Daniels, you weren't the one that physically assaulted another student". My hand moves of it's own accord as a crisp slap echoes across the room. Bryce looks at me like he's been wronged, and I smile. I've always wanted to do that.
