Celaena's eyes snap to us, and she holds something like disgust in it. I know that is the expression she has been carrying for a few months now wherever she looked at anyone she did not know, but yet this disgust is more pronounced, it is more pronounced the more her eyes take in my brother and I am almost shocked at this.
"Does she know you?" I whisper to Scott and he simply shrugs his shoulders, "Who cares?".
He looks sad and his voice has inevitable taking another tone now, it has taken another tone which tells me he isn't happy.
It is that sort of tone that betrays exhaustion.
"How about we go home?" I ask and he shakes his head, "we are here to sorrow shop, are we not, then let's do it".
To be sincere I would have thought that we had done enough sorry shopping for one day. I would be of the opinion that we had done enough sorrow shopping to last us a lifetime, the only thing that was left to do now is to simply watch and be angry at the way Celaena looks at us, like we weren't worth speaking to.
Slowly she makes her way over to Scott and she uses a pretty manicured finger, a long and pretty manicured finger to flick a strand of hair that had fallen across his face.
"I know you from somewhere don't I?". The look on her face tells me that she probably already recognises my brother, the look she's wearing tells me she already recognises him but yet she still wants to quiz him, quiz him like a child and make him answer unreasonable questions.
"Hi Celaena" he says, and it would happen that my brother's voice coming out of his mouth made her walk back in something like surprise. It seems she is surprised at his voice, like it just confirmed something, something that she should have been suspecting for a long time now.
"What are you doing around my Adrian?" She asks. The anger and wrath in her voice is palpable, as she respectively goes red as she looks at my brother. My brother simply flashes his best smile, his best and most infuriating smile as he leans close to her and whispers in her ear "Guess yourself".
He gives out this reply as nothing more than a whisper, but I'm pretty sure we can all hear it. I hear it and I almost burst out laughing.
I realise that laughing in this sort of a situation would do nothing to help Scott or help him from avoiding the wave of anger that Celaena is practically about to release at him, but I guess that there's someone who is more loose than me, someone who doesn't care if she's angry.
Oakley basically dropped in a fit of laughter and I pinch the bridge of my nose smiling as I look at her. I pinch the bridge of my nose and I just sigh, this girl has practically started a war.
