Chapter 171

I keep my eyes firmly on Celaena's hands, her hands are twitching like she wants to grab something and simply smash it on my brother.

"Adrian, exactly what are you doing around this foolish weirdo?", She's practically shouting now and her voice bounces off the walls of this huge place.

It is obviously empty at this point, empty except for the few body guards and the little assembly that we make in attendance.

"Now, what would make you call me weirdo, for all I know you barely know me". Scott replies. He seems deliberate, deliberate and decided at simply infuriating her and I marvel at that sort of courage.

Yes, I'm in awe that the sort of courage he has to actually be inciting anger from a celebrity, a celebrity who is practically famous and so famously angry at this moment.

"Do you know what Adrian tells me of you?" she says. The look on her face has changed now, it has changed into something of smug satisfaction, satisfaction at the fact that she has surely hit a raw nerve with her words. I look between and my brother and her and i wonder exactly what part of this I had missed.

The roles seem to have been reversed so suddenly. Suddenly Selena isn't the angry one anymore, she isn't the one who is about to slap someone, or who is about to wring the life out of whoever is standing in front of her, suddenly the roles have become so reversed that Celaena is now wearing a smug and satisfied look on her face.

"I would like to hear this". He says and she smiles sweetly. I'm guessing her next words won't be so nice.

"You know the other day, he came to me and suddenly our conversation had drifted to you, as much as I would not like to talk about you, he suddenly started rambling about how disturbing you were, about how you wouldn't stop calling him and begging him to do things he didn't want to do. He started telling me of how shameless you are. I believe his exact words were, he is so disgusting I can't even imagine where i had met such a person".

Each and every word she says hits it's mark, and I look to Adrian. I look to Adrian expecting to see something of anger in his features. I look to Adrian expecting to see a look of anger at the way Celaena was clearly lying about this, I wanted to see a look that betrayed all the anger he felt at her simply using his name anyhow, and saying he said things he did not say all because she wanted to make someone angry.

I glanced at him so that I would see said anger there. I had the hope that he would rush up to her and tell Scott it wasn't true, the look of embarrassment on his face tells me it's totally the opposite.
