Chapter 214

My stomach rumbles in hunger and I realised I haven't had any breakfast this morning. I didn't have any breakfast this morning..., because there was nobody to cook.

Well Scott was around but he only seemed interested in getting himself some ice cream, and I guess I should have gotten myself ice cream too.

Oakley simply walks by me quietly and I guess she's having thoughts of her own.

It would be really really dumb of me to say that I'm the only one who thinks as much as I do, and I decide not to interrupt her. It is nice for one to be lost in one's thoughts every now and then.

It isn't really advisable to simply be living in the moment all the time, and so I leave her to her thoughts as we make our way into the cafeteria.

My mind is already going to what to order and for a moment I had almost expected the place to be empty.

I had almost expected it to be empty so much so that we would have a nice breakfast all to ourselves, but I am met with disappointment. It would seem it is not only the school teachers that have rebelled against the normal schedule of the school day, but even the cafeteria lady has managed to infringe on the schedule too.

Normally lunch is by eleven down to twelve, and we have something of a recess period in between the hours of one and one-thirty but yet everyone is practically munching on some treat or the other. Everyone is practically munching on the food which was supposed to be given to us around twelve but yet it is just ten:thirty by the time.

I glanced at the clock again to check if my eyes were seeing things correctly. Maybe the clock should be showing eleven: thirty instead of ten: thirty but yet I'm practically sure it is correct. It is correct because the joyous look on the faces of kids in here tells me that they are clearly enjoying the fact that they are having lunch earlier than usual today.

It will also happen that everyone was going to be paying for their lunch today and it is this part that makes me know that the cafeteria abstractly has been turned into a business place now. I wonder how the principal isn't hearing anything of this and I just shake my head at the inefficiency of my school.

I take my seat and Oakley goes off to get us something to eat, only for me to feel a presence by my side.

I turn my head around already hoping to see, well I wasn't really hoping to see them, I was practically expecting to see either Eras or Clay but yet the brown eyes that meet my own shocks me.

The warm brown eyes super me so much that I almost jumped out of my seat. His smile is hesitant and I'm guessing that is what it should be considering my reaction.

For a moment I cannot believe that Aron will actually have the nerve to approach me. I'm guessing that I should have been expecting it considering that he saw me at the mall yesterday.
