Ify went ahead to take off her clothes. Then she changed into her casual clothes, the ones she wears when she wasn’t going to go anywhere. After putting on some clothes, she left the room. She was hungry and needed to eat. She noticed Lanre on the couch. She wanted to call her but felt like she should just let her be. She walked to the kitchen. She took out some pack of noodles. She kept contemplating whether or not to ask Lanre if she would eat. On a second thought, she felt Lanre must have eaten since she was already back long before her.
Meanwhile, when Ify walked passed Lanre into the kitchen, Lanre lifted her face up. Her face was covered with tears. If there is one thing about Lanre is this, she’s a cry baby. She crys when yelled out, especially if she doesn’t yell back. She cries when she feels something is pressing too hard on her. She crys when she feels unloved. She cries whenever feels weak about something. She was quick to cry. Probably the reason why she acts tough and rough sometimes. Yet she ends up feeling bad after hurting someone.
Lanre stood up from the couch cleaned the tears off her face and went back into the room to get her phone. She looks at what she was wearing, it didn’t seemike an outfit she would like to wear out because it was big and didn’t even show her curves, but she felt it was better. So she just wore her flip flop and left the house not forgetting to take her headset along. Ify ran out of the kitchen. “Lanre, are you going far? Will you take long?” Ify asked. Last night Lanre had got her worried. She needed to know where she was going so that if she does not return soon, she will know where to go look for her.
Lanre looks at her. Her issue was for her to open up her mouth and talk. It was as if talking will make her burst out in tears. She knew she will definitely cry, and the last thing she wanted was Ify seeing her cry right now. The only time Ify ever saw her cry was when her father died. Every other time she has cried in secret and always formed a hard nut. She took a deep breath, smiled at Ify and left.
Ify was annoyed at Lanre’s attitude. “I am so damn tired of this attitude Lanre is always putting on. Like this is a new year and she is yet to change. Only heaven knows how I was able to survive this these past three years going to four years”. Ify said to no one in particular. She walked back into the kitchen only to see that her noodles was already getting burnt. She hurriedly turned off the gas cooker. “Ugh! Now I will have to stress myself in washing off the burnt part from the pot”. Ify said.
