Fascinated

Lanre had no option but to pack her bag as well as that of Ify. Then she puts on something nice. A pair of jean trousers and a royal blue top. Then she took the bags out to the living room. Immediately she was done with that, she called Okechukwu and told him she was not going to make it anymore. She explained to him that something urgent came and she needed to leave with Ify to her Abuja that night. Then she told him she will be back in a week’s time. Okechukwu was quite understanding. He told her they could meet after she has returned. So they ended the call while Lanre sat on the couch using her phone to keep herself busy as she awaits Ify’s arrival.

Ify rushes into the house without even knocking. “You did not lock the door Lanre”. Ify said. Lanre didn’t bother with her. She was used to her saying that as if she was a mother of four kids that loves scolding her children.

Ify got into the room and rushed into a gown that ends on her knees. Then she pushed her feet into an easy to wear footwear. “Let’s go!” She said as she emerged from the room. She carried her bag while Lanre carried hers. Lanre wondered what time they were going to arrive Enugu airport before they take their flight to Abuja. She just hoped there won’t be any form of hold up somewhere along the road.

Thankfully, the journey to Enugu was not as tedious as Lanre thought it would be, thanks to Odenigbo who drove them in his car. Well, he had to since he resides in Enugu and he was returning as well.

Lanre felt fascinated when she got into the airport. She was going to be on a plane. She has never travelled by flight just bus. And now, she had an opportunity for that. She felt really happy and couldn’t stop taking pictures as they waited for the passengers to be called. Since the flight was to be by 7 o’clock, and they arrived some minutes past 6 o’clock, they had about 30 more minutes before their flight will be ready for take off. Well, Lanre thought they will be at the lounge till that time. But 20 minutes to time, they already started calling the passenger in on board.

“Time to go!” Ify said to Lanre. The both of them stood up with their luggage and went on board after their luggage has been screened as well as their body.

“Ify, can I ask you a question?” Lanre asked. Ify told her to go ahead. So Lanre asked Ify if she knew the reason why the cousin who wanted them to start coming today of all days that she had planned to have fun after dusting her final exam.

“She said we need to know the choreography for the reception. Plus you should learn the pros and cons of being a maid of honour”. Ify said.
