From Being A Bachelor

Gozie was surprised at her action. At least she should have let him be a gentleman to her. She did not even wait for him, she just walked straight up into the hall that was being used for the reception.

He locked his car and ran to meet up with her. “If you keep doing like this, mom will end up scolding me for not treating you well”. Gozie said to her. She laughed.

It’s the first he’s heard her laugh. He thought it was sweet. But then he shook his head. She seem like an enchantress quickly penetrating into the heart. She is like a weapon, it will either hurt you or protect you.

“Tell her you do not like me. She won’t kill you”. Lanre said. “And please, stop trying to be a momma’s boy”. Lanre said again.

But Gozie defended himself. He told her he was not being a mommy’s boy. He also thought she was beautiful.

“Because I am beautiful?” Lanre asked. He could not understand what that question actually meant. So he just kept quiet.

“You see, you are just a momma’s boy after all”. Lanre said laughing. “That is a huge violation from you fair one. You are beautiful and attractive, so why wouldn’t I want to mingle? Abi who no like better thing?” Gozie said asking her if there was anyone who does not like good things at the end. But Lanre did not say anything to him.

Just when Lanre was about to enter into the main hall for the reception, he held her back. She raised an eyebrow at him in a questioning manner.

“They will call the families to match in later on. You have to wait”. Gozie said to her. But she told him she was not family.

“You are with us, so for now think of yourself as a family”. Gozie said to her.

“You are just seeing me for the first time”. Lanre said to him. He rolled his eyes making her to almost laugh.

“That has nothing to do with this. Besides, my mom trained me well”. Gozie said to her. She just twisted her lips. Then she decided to stay back so he don’t get to see only all the hard side of her.

“You are both here already!” That was Anita’s mother. She had a bright smile on her face. She looks at her husband and asked him if Lanre and Gozie don’t look adorable together.

“Honey, don’t this two look adorable together?” Anita’s mother asked her husband. He knew his wife was at it again. She was again in her match making fest for their son who does not seem like one who is ready any time soon to move from being a bachelor.

“Yes they do look adorable”. Her husband said. Gozie was already blushing before now. His mother was quite funny when it comes to things like this. But his father joining him.

“Mr Okafor!” Gozie exclaimed. The man just laughed. “It is your mother”. The man said.
