She Left

Lanre went in to go and get her stuffs. While she left, Mrs Okafor told Gozie to go drop the girl at the airport and also get a ticket for her. He should make sure her plane has taken off before he leaves the airport. K wanted to laugh at the woman’s plan, but he ceased from that.

“Mom!” K called. He was fond of doing that whenever he wanted to spite the woman. “Gozie is not a driver and trust me, if you want him to woo that young woman, then it is already a failed mission. I already got her dripping for me”. K said wearing a proud look. Mrs Okafor told him that if not that she respected his father’s status, she would make sure he is locked up in the cell because he did not know how to talk.

“I love you too Mrs Okafor!” K said forming a heart shape with his hand and throwing it at the woman.

“Kehinde, leave our house!” Gozie said. It annoyed him what K does. He was sure what the young man must have done with Lanre all through the weekend. As far as he is concerned, K was a goat, and Lanre was a yam, out both together a d you won’t find the yam. And as long as it was K, he knew he was just going to use Lanre and dump her. K was never the type to keep women. Everyone knows he is a player. Everyone who knows him does.

“Gozie my man! Calm down jhoor! I know you like her as well. If ever I get done with her, you can have her. But if I do not, forget it!” K said to Gozie. The mother slapped K and asked him to get out. “The kind of friends Anita keeps. Can’t you ever learn from your friend Michael? He is married and now settled”. Mrs Okafor said. She could no longer stand K, so she left even though she had asked him to leave. She did not even stay to see to it that he lives.

“Don’t worry, she is my big Mama! I will still make her laugh and forget about today”. K said to Gozie. “Do not hurt that girl if not..” Gozie said to K warning him not to hurt Lanre even though he was a hundred percent sure he was going to hurt her. K just winked at him.

“I can’t find Ify, where did she go?” Lanre asked Gozie when she came out with her luggage. Gozie told her that Ify had left the previous day before this day. “She left on Sunday”. Gozie said to Lanre. Lanre sighed. So Ify actually pulled through with what she said. She felt bad. But it seems life was now taking a different turn for them. She could see herself losing her best friend for four years. She just nods. Then she asked Gozie where his mother went so she can actually tell the woman she was leaving. She pleaded with K to either be patient with her or leave in peace.
