Lanre left the hall after the second lap has elapsed. She looked at her phone, a frown appeared on her face. She had missed some calls. And it was no other person but Okechukwu. She got annoyed. She already told him she was not going to go out with him. She was trying to stop herself from reacting when a message popped up on her screen.
“Where are you?” That was question was from a number she had not saved up on her contact list. She tried to know who it was that had texted her by merely Looking at the number to know she was familiar with it. But she could not tell who’s phone number that was. So she texted back asking to know who the person was.
The person only replied her telling her not to worry about his identity since she would soon see him. She almost burst out laughing. This person sounded funny to her. “It better not be Okechukwu, because I won’t change my mind. I ain’t going nowhere!” Lanre said.
“Lanre please wait!” Ify called running to catch up with Lanre. Lanre turned to look at her, only for her course to change. She had been forcefully puled back the other way and into an embrace. Immediately she realised that someone had forcefully pulled her into his embrace, she tried to pull out of his hold not even knowing who it was.
“Stay still Lanre! I’ve missed you!” Lanre immediately recognised the voice as K’s but she thought she must be imagining things. K can’t find her so easily in her school. But when he pulled back to take a look at her face, she could no longer doubt the truth. It was K! How did he find her in this big school?
“How? What are you doing here? I mean, how did you find me here?” Lanre asked. K pulled her back in not minding the eyes that were busy watching, neither the fact that they were in a public place, he kissed her. Lanre tried to pull back, conscious of the fact that they were in a public area. And she was sure that some of her course mates would definitely take a shot of this and post it on social media as well as the class group chat.
“K, this is a school environment “. She said not knowing the kind of excuse to give at that moment that could have stopped K. “I know! But I do not give a f**k! I miss you! Still missing you!” K said to her.
Ify stood watching trying to put two and two together. She did recognised K as the best man at her cousin’s wedding. If he was here and kissing Lanre, does it mean that, he was the one who had taken Lanre with him from the reception?
“No wonder he suddenly disappeared!” Ify thought. Then she felt her friend has gotten a boyfriend. It seems they started liking each other from their first encounter at the shop. But she still felt something was fishy.
