A Lot Of Spamming

Lanre finally got to her destination. She asked the Uber driver to wait for he will take her back to the beauty parlour. She was standing right in front of MT Life eatery. There food and snacks are always tasty. She loved them, but each time she looks at the name, it sounds as though it is empty life and not MT life which means, Maximum Treat life. But then, when she looks at life, it is full of more emptiness than whatever men run after. Lanre wouldn’t blame the preacher in the book of Ecclesiastes who kept saying life is vanity.

Lanre got into the eatery. She went straight to the counter. She did not intend to eat there. She bought some plates of rice, all packaged in a away. Then she bought some plates of ice-cream as well as a samosa. Samosa is Chidinma’s favourite snack. So Lanre had gotten it because of her. The sales rep packed up Lanre’s order and handed it to her. While Lanre handed her debit card over to pay for what she bought.

Afterwards, she left with her card to sit down on one of the empty seats in the eatery. She placed the bags containing everything she bought on the table and clings to her phone. She just kept on viewing messages and replying messages of her customers. Most of them were checking with her to know when she will be available to personally attend to them. This was all possible due to her connection with Lady B and the actress, Mrs. Timitola Richard.

It was mostly the actress who had brought a lot of customers to her. Once she brings a friend, the friend brings another and even more. Her month seems like a year because her place was always full except for Wednesdays like this.

Once she was done replying every message from her customers, she decided to check her class WhatsApp group chat. Since the graduation list has been released, she was sure there will be a lot of spamming in the group chat. And true, there were over a thousand messages waiting to be read.

She has expected the messages to be much, but she never thought it to be this much Funny enough is that more messages seem to be popping into the group. Perhaps they were mocking those who did not graduate. She knew there were lots of people in her class that knew not how to mind their own business. They were always nosy and are good at mocking others.

She clicked on the group, and indeed, they were indeed mocking someone. She frowned seeing how they were bad mouthing somebody. She pitied the person without knowing who it was. She decided to read through the messages carefully from the beginning.

She saw that it was their class representative who had first entered the group to drop an epistle congratulating those who’s names came out in the graduation list. And also to comfort those who’s names were not seen.
