Lanre and Ify are roommates and students of the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu state. While Lanre is a beautiful light skin girl from the city of Ibadan, Ify whose full name is Ifeoma is dark skinned from the coal city, Enugu and both are undergraduates studying Mass communication and are in their final year. 
Unlike Ify, Lanre is the wild type who has her eyes for extremely flashy things, so when a guy approached her and asked her to marry her, she thought he wanted to hinder her from leaving life to the fullest until she realised he was the governor's son and wanted him for herself. But he was already engaged to Ify. What price is Lanre willing to pay to marry the "Governor's Son"?

The Governor's Son Is Mine

Christian walked in right out of the kitchen. He could feel the tension between the two. He didn’t want to interrupt them immediately. He wanted to study them. His aim was to check the chemistry between the two of them and see if it was strong enough to make them come back together. But it was so frustrating as he could not actually tell. Lanre was unreadable.

“How could she be hiding so much. Or does she not love K?” Christian muttered. Then he clears his throat to draw their attention.

“Do the both of you intend to eat each other? I’m done setting the plates. We should eat now”. Christian said. K was the first to stand up. He stopped beside Christian and amidst gritted teeth, he warned Christian never to bring Lanre to his house again.

“I can’t promise you that if she decides she wants to visit”. Christian replied. K walked past Christian ignoring his words. And soon they all are the noodles prepared by Lanre. Christian kept complaining that he was not satisfied and blamed K for coming uninvited to eat his ration. While Lanre just took the dishes to go wash them.

“Hey! Hey! What are you about do?” Christian asked Lanre. She replied telling him she was going to wash the plates. Christian objected. He told her to just leave it. He suddenly stood up and rushed towards Lanre so he could get the plates from her and take them to the dishwasher himself. But due to the suddenness of the event, the plates dropped and went shattering on the floor.

Lanre covered her mouth with her hands looking at the mess in horror. K just shook his head. Christian should have just let Lanre keep the plates herself. “But it’s all good”. He thought. At least he could just walk out of here with Lanre while Christian keeps himself busy by cleaning up the mess.

“I will clean it up. Please where’s your….. what are you doing?” Lanre said trying to yank her hand away from K’s. But he sure did hold her strongly.

“You can clean up the mess yourself since you caused it. I will drop her off”. K said pulling Lanre with him not even minding that she was unwilling to go with him.

Christian had a smirk on his face. “It seems jealousy is the only element that would make you choose her over your fear”. Christian said. Then his smirked fade away. He thought what would happen if K actually decides to face his father and go for Lanre. Will Lanre drop her thought of not wanting to marry him and accept him in the end? Christian knew that the Governor was the issue. He only threatened K to see if his son was ready to take risk. But K was choosing the easy way out. He would rather be away from her in order to protect her than to be with her and not being able to protect.
