Call Me The Villain

After much convincing on K’s path, Lanre finally agreed to let him drop her off, after all, it was not much of a big deal since he knows where she lives already. So Lanre and Chidinma were both given a ride home in K’s car. Unknown to Lanre, this was the first step to her troubles. No one noticed Ify watching them from afar.

Ify had gritted her teeth as she watched K let Lanre in into his car. “So you have been with her all these while that’s why you won’t answer your phone. Bastard! I thought you said she’s not your type and you only wanted her for sex back then. You are doing well following her like a dog follows it’s owner”. Ify muttered. She was so angry that she just wanted to go and pull out Lanre’s hair from her skull.

“Call me the villain or not, I don’t care anymore. I will do anything to keep my man. Forget about saving Lanre from K, she does not deserve him, he is nice but foolish because he goes after a girl that does not care for him”. She said. Then she picks up her phone and called her aunt in Abuja.

“Aunty, good afternoon!” Ify greeted her aunt first. Mrs. Okafor replied to her greetings excitedly and started throwing praises at her. Ify cuts her off.

“Aunty, I thought you were coming with Gozie soon to ask for Lanre’s hand in marriage? What is going on now? You better do fast before I kill her o! I’ve said my own”. Ify said to her aunt and abruptly hangs up on her.

“Chineke me! Ify wants to kill somebody! What’s wrong with this girl?” Mrs. Okafor exclaimed in shock. She tried calling Ify back but Ify did not answer any of her calls. Mrs. Okafor became restless. She puts both hand on her head. What was she going to do now? Gozie told her he was no longer interested in Lanre and so she did not bother anymore in trying to make Lanre her daughter in-law. But now that Ify was saying such things, she hopes Ify was not serious. But who can tell with anger what a person can do? Anger’s a very dangerous tool. It uses it’s host if the host lacks self control. And it can tear both the host and the object of the host’s anger. At the end, the host becomes a victim of its evilness.

Mrs. Okafor immediately dials her sister’s number, Mrs. Ochuzi. She did not even wait for her sister to say anything, neither did she even exchange pleasantries with Mrs. Ochuzi.

“Nne, call Ify and tell her to come and stay with you people in Enugu. Tell her to leave Lagos now”. Mrs. Okafor said to Ify’s mother. The woman was a bit confused. She asked her sister why she wanted her to call back her daughter who has gone to visit in-laws to be.

Mrs. Okafor told Ify’s mother not to ask her any questions and just do as she had instructed. But Ify’s mother said that was out of her power as Ify no longer attends to her calls and also do not listen to her anymore.
