Queen Of Prostitution

Ify was able to persuade Victory to do it. “If you still want to be the maid of honour for my wedding, you will do just that”. Ify said. And that was just enough to trigger Victory to do as Ify had asked.

“Who was that?” Sandra, Victory’s friend asked. Victory told her it was Ifeoma Ochuzi who had called.

“Ifeoma Ochuzi, that Yoruba demoness friend and roommate that year”. Victory replied. Sandra immediately drew closer to Victory. She asked of it was for an update. Victory feigned annoyance asking her to stay away.

“Babe talk na! What’s up? Wetin she talk? I mean what did she tell you?” Sandra said. She seemed ready to take in any gossip. Victory finally tells her what Ify had said to her.

“She wants us to spread rumours about Lanre that she was a prostitute”. Victory said. Sandra laughed. Then she pushes Victory on her head.

“It is not a rumour my dear! That girl na olosho (that girl is a prostitute)”. Sandra said. Then she asked Victory if she was not aware that Lanre slept around with a lot of guys on campus before they graduated.

“Even Dami, that guy that plays acoustic guitar and sings in public, she slept with him. Is like he did not pay well she seized his guitar”. Sandra said referring to the same Dami who had tried to force himself on Lanre. But she had deceived him and ran away with his guitar. He had actually come to look for her in her department. And the day she returned his guitar, it was close to their departmental building. So a lot of people thought it to be otherwise.

“Are you being serious? That boy that most have slept with a lot of girls in this campus, both the HIV infested chickens and the ugly rats, she slept with him!? Hmm!” Victory exclaimed. Sandra replied with, “birds of the same feathers identify with each other”.

Victory immediately decided to drop the gist on every social media platform. She told Sandra that this additional information will make the gist tend and every student including lecturers would want to see it. Then Sandra also said it was at the right timing since convocation was in a month’s time.

“Exactly!” Victory said. Then as if she just realised something, she asked Sandra if their convocation was not too early. According to her, the previous sets has always had theirs late.

“You know the Vice Chancellor is new. I heard she wants this convocation to be over with so that the school could face other things”. Sandra said to Victory. And the both of them immediately went on to put up stories of Lanre having been a prostitute while she was in school.

It was mostly tagged as “Best graduating Student in Mass Communication; Queen of Prostitution; Does She Deserve This Honour? ‘Olanrewaju Olayinka’”

“This is perfect! It will draw everybody’s attention”. Victory said. Sandra giggled. Then she asked Victory if she will get her share of the money that will be paid to her.

“Of course na!” Victory replied assuring her she would get her own share.
