Lanre shook her head laughing. Then she asked him what they could possibly be chatting about since it’s been long they saw each other and they were not even friends to begin with. This made Ebube ask if they were enemies since they were not friends. Lanre shrugs. He gave her a business card and asked her to call him when she feels like it. He left afterwards to go join a some guys who Lanre believes are his friends. She went to meet the celebrant and told her she needed to leave. Laura tried to persuade her to stay but she insisted on leaving since she would need to prepare for the next day. Laura could not convince her so she left with Pascal who seemed relieved to have left the party.
“Finally!” Pascal muttered in his breath.
“I will be traveling next week. I need to go to my school, they will be doing convocation for my set. I don’t know why they decided to do it this early, but it is good that we just get over with it”. Lanre said. Pascal wondered if she was actually giving him this information afore hand. He was left with no words to say as he didn’t know how he could contribute to the information she just gave him.
While they walked the street, Lanre felt at ease. She felt calm enough to talk tonight. She smiles at Pascal.
“Should two friends fight over a man?” She asked. Pascal told her it depends.
“If one is married to the man and the other friend is trying to seduce her husband, they that one is free to fight to save her marriage. But then, if it is over a man that is yet to marry any of them, then the fight is not worth it. But I find it lacking on the man’s path to let two women fight over him. For such to happen, he must have tongue washed both friends”. Pascal said. Lanre nods her head and thanked Pascal for sincerely answering her question.
Pascal wanted to ask if she was going through such situation, but he did not want to pry. He kept the question in his head to himself. Then it occurred to him that they’ve been walking for quite some time and it was not looking as though they would soon take a taxi. He sighted a taxi and stopped it. He asked the driver if he can take them to Surulere. The driver did say he could but the money he said they would pay made Pascal tell him to leave. He had told them he would drive them to Surulere if they should pay ten thousand naira since it was already night. Pascal did not bother to bargain. He just let the man go.
“I’m being unreasonable, right? I should have ordered for Uber before leaving the party, but I just feel like walking for a while”. Lanre said with a frown creasing her face.
