A Tiny Cut Close To Her Brow

Christian did not listen to Lanre. They ended up arguing. He wanted her to stop sending Tega away with the car. While she told him he must have gotten it for her but it was her car and she would do with it whatever she likes, and would give it to Tega if she wants.

“Are you kidding me? You don’t even know that guy!” He said trying to make a point.

“I didn’t know you either before I started trusting you”. She retorted. Christian opened his mouth to speak but just looked at her. Soon a smile crept into his lips. She trusted him. It was either he has forgotten he was driving and they were on a business road, or he did forget.

“Christain!” Lanre screeched. But there was no time for Christian to advert his car, they ran into a vehicle before them. Lanre had hit her head against the board, thanks to the seatbelt it would have been the windscreen her head would have passed through. The front of the car was damaged. But nothing serious happened to them except for the tiny cut close to Lanre’s brow.

Christian got down from the car. The vehicle in front of them was also damaged at the booth. Lanre came down after Christian. She saw he was already making call. Well, that was the last peaceful act she saw, because next thing she knew, the owner of the car in front of them was out.

“Hey hey! Trouble de sleep, yanga go wake am (Trouble has been awaken)”. A lady said as she stepped out of the car walking towards Christian. She seized him by the collar.

“So you hit my car! In fact, you damaged my car! And you put one hand for waist de make call instead of you to de beg? Ogun wan kill your papa?” The lady said raising her voice to attract a crowd of people while swearing at Christian.

Christian asked the woman to remove her hand from his collar so they could discuss like normal human beings who were mature adults. But the lady refused.

“Emabinu ma (I’m sorry ma)! Ma please release his collar, let’s talk this out”. Lanre pleaded. The woman squeezed Christian’s collar and placed a tight grip on it with one of her hand. Then she pointed the other mockingly at Lanre saying she knew it.

“I knew it! It is people like you causing accident everywhere. Once you are in a man’s can, you start distracting him. I’m sure the two of you are not married. You are having illicit relationship and you are boldly sitting in front. Stupid generation!” She said. Then she looked at Christian eyeing him with disdain.

“Once ona carry woman for car, ona brain don disappear (Once you have a woman in your car, you tend to misbehave). You people will be causing accident and blaming it on the devil. Well, that is not my business. You must buy me a new car”. The woman said. All this while Lanre was just looking at the woman in horror.
