Lanre and Ify are roommates and students of the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu state. While Lanre is a beautiful light skin girl from the city of Ibadan, Ify whose full name is Ifeoma is dark skinned from the coal city, Enugu and both are undergraduates studying Mass communication and are in their final year. 
Unlike Ify, Lanre is the wild type who has her eyes for extremely flashy things, so when a guy approached her and asked her to marry her, she thought he wanted to hinder her from leaving life to the fullest until she realised he was the governor's son and wanted him for herself. But he was already engaged to Ify. What price is Lanre willing to pay to marry the "Governor's Son"?

Anita woke up the next morning to found out that Lanre was gone. She became furious and yelled at K asking him why he would let Lanre leave at night even though Lanre said she was leaving. K had told her that it was Lanre who wanted to leave saying she could not afford to miss her work.

“How am I even sure you are not the one that asked her to leave?” Anita yelled. Ify came out looking poised. She asked Anita how she expected to meet Lanre in a house that was not hers early in the morning.

“I mean, were you expecting her to sleep here? With K on the same bed? You must be the world’s best sister in-law?” Ify said with a smug look on her face. Anita did not answer her a word. She unlocked her phone and in less than a minute, she showed it to Ify.

“I just made your day hell! I tagged you”. Anita said. Then she went back into her room. Ify looked at K as if begging for his help. He shrugs and walked away. Ify went after him.

“You helped Lanre back then, why can’t you help me too?” Ify said running after him. She grabbed his arms and begged him to help her stop the rumours from spreading. K pushed his head back.

“Ify, she uploaded a video not a rumour as you had spread about Lanre. Besides, I helped her because I owed her one. It was my fault you did that to her, so it was only right that I helped her”. K said.

“You helped her against me. But you can’t help me when I’m in trouble? Well if you don’t, I will release the video”. Ify threatened.

“Is this really a thing that runs in your family?” K asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Ify, I’m keeping my own side of the bargain. I won’t have anything to do with Lanre. I persuaded her to leave last night knowing that it would be too dangerous for her to roam alone outside in the night. But I did my part. I hope you do not breach this contract because of your personal issue with your cousin. If you do, I would not need to breach mine, but I can’t assure you another day of your life”. K said to her.

Ify could feel shivers down her spine. Did K just threaten her? What does he mean she by he can’t assure her another day of her life? Was he going to kill her or something of that sort?

She felt like crying but told herself to be strong. The video will only trend for one or two days but it will die in less than a week. Another viral video or news will come and push hers aside and everyone will forget about the video. But she was wrong. It was as though someone has been waiting for the perfect time to strike.
