What A Spoilt Brat

Within a day, the wife of the Governor of Lagos state, Adewale Olasile became one of Google’s hot searched. Everyone wanted to know about the woman who is the Governor’s wife. Everyone wanted to know her who embezzles money. What people were saying on net, and on social media platforms, “weda na governor or na governor wife, all of them na the same thing. Everybody in this country is corrupt”. In other words, be it the governor or the governor’s wife, everyone is corrupt. There were only few people against the notion that everyone was corrupt. They believed there were still some good people out there.

Ify out of fear left with her aunt that day, little did she know that her aunt will get complicated. They had taken the next flight to Abuja. She got to pass the gate before her aunt. There was a delay. Her aunt was being searched. And then her aunt was implicated, hard drugs was found in her hand bag.

“Such a crude place to keep something this implicating”. The custom officer said. So you were the culprit we were looking for. The national drug law enforcement agency called us to search any lady around your age”. The custom officer said.

Mrs. Okafor was surprised as to how she ended up with hard drugs in her bag? What could she be doing with such a thing.

“I have been framed! This is not right. I’m calling my lawyer”. Mrs. Okafor yelled. The woman could not just phantom how this happened. Ify could not be of help either. And because she did not want to be implicated as well, she acted like she does not know her aunt. It would be better to go see her at the station later as a family than to be seen with her here. They would believe she’s an accomplice since they were traveling together. Ify left the airport quietly. Bad things seem to be happening to her. First the video of the Governor’s wife got leaked, now her aunt was caught with hard drugs. Ify was confused. How could that video leak? Did she mistakenly sent it or did her phone misbehave?

She had followed her aunt here because she was scared of what K may do to her. He would believe she was the one that uploaded the video, which she didn’t. She went to her aunt’s place. Her aunt’s husband, Mr. Okafor was not at home when she arrived. She called Anita to know if she was at the capital. She wanted to tell her what happened. But Anita did not respond to her call.

“She’s the one who offended me, but she is the one ignoring my call. What a spoilt brat”. Ify muttered.

She coiled up on the bed as the tears freely flow from her eyes. She did not know how she would handle this issue. It was beyond her. She could not even tell if someone was deliberately doing this to make her suffer. But this can’t be the doing of one person. Perhaps all the bad things just chose a day to happen.
