Sleep If You Want To

They finally arrived at the front of a hotel. Eno panicked but didn’t let it show. She lets them lead her into the hotel. On reaching the lobby another man walked down to them telling the ones with her he would take it from here. She bit her lips. Eno thought about how much she would want to be walked by bodyguards but it came the wrong way. Here she is being led into the arms of a man she knows nothing of. She was sure the man would not care if she’s just sixteen or not. He must be a beast in the first place for buying her.

Eno was taken into a room. Before her was a man she looked quite familiar. He looked like a pig that has drank too much water with his potbelly. She noticed the lady seated on a chair with her legs crossed. The lady seemed relaxed. She looked yet again at the lady to check if her eyes were paining her. She wondered why this lady was also here. Is the lady also a prostitute or is she a human trafficker? Eno stood there in a daze. The thought that the man before her could be the person who sleeps with her was killing.

“I thought waiting here forever would kill me before you arrive. Let’s go!” Lanre said standing up from the chair. She took Eno’s hand pulling her with her. Then she stops abruptly turns to face senator Ojo.

“Thank the man, he paid for your freedom”. Lanre said to Eno. Eno looked at senator Ojo. She pulls her hand from Lanre’s and knelt before the man telling him “thank you” and afterwards pleaded he does not harm her and she would work to pay back whatever he paid for her. Lanre frowned.

“You are smart but foolish. Stand up and let’s get out of here”. Lanre said to Eno. Senator Ojo flagged his hand, an indication that Eno should leave. Lanre took Eno out. They got into her car and Tega drove them out of the hotel premise.

“Tega, thank you for waiting. Remind me to top your payment this week”. Lanre said. Tega told her he was just doing his job.

“Sleep if you want to. You are safe now. I won’t to asking you any questions for now and will only let you rest. So sleep if you want to. It will take us hours to get home due to hold up”. Lanre said to Eno who still does not feel comfortable. Even though they bought her freedom from that woman, does it make her less free? She could have probably enter into another bondage.

Eno did not blink her eyes until they got to Lanre’s place. Lanre took her to the room that was previously Chidinma’s. She told Eno to feel comfortable since they were now at her place, but Eno rather be at alert even though she does not know how she would actually protect herself if something were to happen.
