But then the young man was being urged by the principal to speak, so he decided to just speak up. If speaking was the only thing the principal wanted from him. He told the principal he was not aware of what was going on until he heard a whipping sound. That was when he looked up to see the teacher standing in front of a girl with a cane. He pointed at Eno to be the girl the teacher was standing in front of. The principal shook his head. It seems he actually picked the wrong student to tell him what happened in the class. The young man looked smart, but it seems it was just his looks.
“Do you even learn in class?” The principal asked the young man.
“I would rather read at home. Most of what the teachers explain in class cannot qualify for an explanation. Like seventy percent of my class teachers can’t actually do their job right. So why should I pay attention to a person who doesn’t know what he or she is doing?” The boy said.
Eno looked at the boy shocked at how blunt he was. She was blunt, but his, there was some kind of charismatic aura around him.
The principal asked the boy to leave his office. The boy left without a word. The principal looked from the teacher to Eno and the other girl. He asked Eno to tell him what happened this time. And whatsoever Eno says, he would ask either the teacher or the other girl if it was true. At the end of Eno’s talk, the principal got to realise it was the teacher’s mistake. He asked Eno and the other student to go back to their class.
“You said you will call my guardian. You should call her, Sir! You cannot determine truth just from what I told you”. Eno said to the principal. He told Eno that everything was fine and that he believes her without no doubt. Still, Eno refused.
The principal looked for Eno’s file. He called Eno’s guardian’s phone, but it didn’t go through. He sighed. He decided to try the second line. Fortunately, the second line went through but it was a man who answered. The principal was confused. He knew Eno’s guardian was a lady and she does not have a man’s voice.
“Please I would like to speak with Miss. Olanrewaju”. The principal said.
“Sorry, this is not her number. I’m her friend Christian. Is there anything wrong?” The person on the other side of the call said. Turns out it was Christian’s number. Lanre must have filled it in on purpose. Besides, Christian was her closes friend and Eno was familiar with him.
“Christian?” The principal recalled Eno had mentioned his name in a feat when they were in her class before running outside.
“I believe you must know Enowa Itohan then”. The principal said to Christian over the phone.
“Did something happened? Hope she is alright?” Christian panicked. He doubt Eno would be okay knowing Lanre was missing.
