Unexpected

Lanre knowing how strong willed Eno is forced herself out of bed. She called Tega to come pick them up. Then she went to take her bath. After which she sent a text to Christian telling him if he was already in his way he should take a reverse and not come to her place. She told him she was okay and that Eno was overreacting. She told Christian she was no longer at home and was on her way to Eno’s new school.

Christian didn’t get to see Lanre’s message until he got to her place. Apparently, Christian got there just in time. Lanre was about getting into her car after Eno when Christian arrived. She stamped her foot on the ground. Didn’t he see her message? Why did he still come?

“Chris, I thought I sent you a message asking you not to come anymore?” Lanre said. Christian checked his phone and realised he didn’t hear the notification sound and therefore had no clue there was a message in his phone.

“I didn’t see the message until just now you are saying. Since I’m already here, let’s go together. We will drop Eno at her school and take you to the hospital”. Christian said to Lanre. But she disagreed. She told Christian it was a Tuesday and he should be at work by this time. But Christian was also stubborn. He refused and they started arguing. The argument lasted until Lanre said something Christian never expected.

“Stop it okay! Stop acting like you are my father or the man responsible for my pregnancy. Please stop it! I need some air! I need some privacy. Stop treating me like a baby, please! I’m sick of it”. Lanre said. Lanre felt sorry after those words dropped out of her mouth. But words are like seeds. And the ear that hears them could either be the water that waters them or the soil on which it is planted. As for Christian, he was the soil and Lanre already sowed her seeds.

Without saying a word, Christian walked away. Lanre couldn’t go after him as she knew he had a right to be angry. But more so, she felt it would be her making a fool out of herself going after him to beg immediately after letting those words out of her mouth. She took a deep breath. She turned to see Eno looking at her stupefied.

Lanre told Eno to get into the car. She got in as well and Tega drove off. All the while they were in the car, there was silence. Eno was busy trying to wrap her mind around what had happened. Could it be that Lanre cheated on Christian or they are not really in a relationship? Eno could not actually tell what was going on. Whereas Lanre kept tapping her phone. She looked restless. Eno noticed the way Lanre rushed to see what had appeared on her phone screen when the phone vibrated. She saw the disappointment on Lanre’sfave after checking her phone. It must be she did not see what she was expecting.
