Lanre and Ify are roommates and students of the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu state. While Lanre is a beautiful light skin girl from the city of Ibadan, Ify whose full name is Ifeoma is dark skinned from the coal city, Enugu and both are undergraduates studying Mass communication and are in their final year. 
Unlike Ify, Lanre is the wild type who has her eyes for extremely flashy things, so when a guy approached her and asked her to marry her, she thought he wanted to hinder her from leaving life to the fullest until she realised he was the governor's son and wanted him for herself. But he was already engaged to Ify. What price is Lanre willing to pay to marry the "Governor's Son"?

The Governor's Son Is Mine

“I am going to kill her”. Governor Adewale. The “her” in the statement is no other person but Ify. He took his phone and was about to make a call. But K stopped him. K told his father that Ify was not the one who released the video. The father slapped him. He asked K why he was defending Ify when they all knew that she is the culprit. K ate up the slap together with his pride. He told his father that things are not always as they seem to be. He told his father that Ify was framed.

“What excuse do you intend making up for her?” The father asked. K took a deep breath.

“I already looked into the matter. I found the culprit. Ify did video mom when she was doing that. I know because I was the only person she showed the video to. She used it to threaten me so that I won’t go back to Lanre. Do you think she would release the video when we have not even gotten married?” K threw this question at his dad. Governor Adewale didn’t want the details. It asz making him sick to the bones. He just wanted K to go straight to the point.

“Her boyfriend did. He wanted us to call off the engagement and chase her out of the family. To be honest, Ify was kind of forced into this by her aunt. Mommy’s fake friend, Mrs. Okafor”. K said to his father.

“So she had a boyfriend even while engaged to my son? I should have kept an eye on her. I will have to punish her boyfriend for taking a bite from a plate he cannot afford”. Adewale said. K smiled. At least he had managed to help Lanre get out of this as well as Ify. He just hopes Ify’s boyfriend will forgive him if his father ever gets to locate him.

“So about the contract, I’m quitting. You should get someone else”. K said to his father. He stood up to leave.

“Is it just because she is pregnant that makes you want to marry her? Do you have to leave the country. You never wanted to stay outside Nigeria unless you are going on a vacation”. The Governor said to his son, K.

K told him he just wanted to stay out of the drama in the country. He said he changed his mind and would live outside the country.

“I forbid you from leaving this country until she has put to birth. She needs her family around her during this period and when she has put to birth, she would need her mother to take care of her and the baby”. His father said to him. But K was not going to let his father decide for him.

“I will hire ten nurses to take care of them. I will make her never miss home. And if I have to bring her mother with us, it is not a problem at all”. K said to his father.
