What He Is Thinking

“At least the witnesses should have told you what type of car. Please tell me the type of car and the colour”. Christian said. He looked worried. Lanre would not willingly follow a man she does not know in a car and let him drive off with her. She would not spend a night with a man leaving the house in her night dress. This better not be what he is thinking. If it is, then he won’t let it slide.

Christian left the station in a hurry. He got into his car. The first thing he did was to call K. K’s number did ring but got disconnected just as immediately as it got connected. Be knew K must have done it intentionally. He tried calling K again. And it was yet again the same result. Christian decided to send a text to K.

“Hey! Trying to reach you but it keeps getting disconnected. Don’t know if it is you doing it. Just want to know if Lanre is with you”. This was the body of the message Christian sent to K.

Christian sat patiently in his car waiting for K’s reply. He would only start up his car and get on the road after getting a reply from K because that will determine his next move.

After waiting for a while and not receiving any message, Christian decided to call again. This time K picked up.

“I thought as much, you will call again if I don’t reply. Let’s play golf”. K said to Christian.

“I would rather go for a pool game”. Christian said to K. K told him he didn’t mind.

“Pool game it is then. You know exactly where we are meeting, right?” K said and ended the call before Christian could reply.

Christian wondered what K could have in mind. But he may never find out if he does not go to meet him.

Christian drove his car down town. He ended up at a club house where he and K usually go once in a while to play a pool game and enjoy their time with the ladies. This time it was all about one lady.

Christian got there but could not find K there. It seems he was the first to arrive. He texted K was already there. K did not reply. Christian decided to wait blindly. He was not sure if K would still show up, but he was not about to turn his back on the reason why he came.

“You got here first, You must be really punctual in life?” That was K. He was just walking in on Christian. Christian smirked. He threw a stick at K. And got himself another one.

“Let us play”. Christian said. K chuckled. He told Christian to start first. And so the two began to play their pool game.

“Lanre, where is she?” Christian asked. K acted as though he did not hear Christian. He just looked left and right and made a comment about the new girl working in the place.
