Call His Phone

“I was about calling you. Send me her location. I will deal with this officially. Thanks to her, I got a promotion. Now I’m going to bring her down for daring to touch my mother”. Olamide said to Lanre over the phone. Lanre asked him if it was thanks to Mrs. Okafor he got the promotion or her who is his sister. Olamide told her that it was her who had done given the woman the task and the woman had done it.

“I am not about to drag that with you. Just make sure Iyami is safe. I have something here in Lagos that I will need to take care of”. Lanre said. She was about hanging up when her brother asked her if she was the one who actually leaked the video of the wife of Governor Adewale Adekunle plotting to steal public funds. Lanre asked him how that has got to do with rescuing their mother.

“Leave Lagos Lanre. It is not safe for you if you were the one who actually did that. Governor Adewale is a wolve in sheep clothing. I’ve heard of him from my seniors. He does not spare even the cub of the lion that bares his teeth out to him”. Olamide said to Lanre over the phone. Lanre told him to relax. She assured him she will be fine. The brother told her he will only share the video since her message attached to the video will endanger Lanre. Lanre thanked her brother.

A few minutes after they were done talking, Christian arrived Ify’s office. He hugged her when he finally got to see her after how many days of not seeing her.

“Why are you being melodramatic? Please stop acting like a baby”. Lanre said to Christian. Then she asked Christian about Eno. It was as though the bane Eno was starked to her head.

“Lanre, why are you much all about Eno?” Christian asked her. She told Christian it was because at the moment, she was the only one Eno has as family. And that Eno was more like her younger sister.

“Kehinde took her. He took her two days ago. He said you were aware. He said he wanted to change her school. I thought you agreed to it. Do not tell me he lied to me just to get Eno out of my house? I had the house maid stay with her to keep her company. But Eno was happy when she heard that she was going to a better school. So he lied?” Christian said.

Lanre crunched down on the floor. She felt her strength leave her. How come she never thought about it that he could be serious and may have carried out his ideas of taking Eno to a boarding school already?

“Why does he always have to hold me back?” Lanre asked Christian. He could not give her an answer.

“Call his phone”. Lanre said to Christian. Christian panicked. He told her that he won’t let her go to him again.

“Just do it Chris”. Lanre said.
