The tears streamed down her temples and dropped on her shoulders. She sobbed bitterly and looked down at her note again and started writing. Then she took another shot of alcohol, another shot and yet another shot. She had decided that she was not going to get drunk that night, but she was going to cry a lot, but her decision didn't even matter now.
She couldn't control herself. Nobody had really loved her, at least not enough to stick with her. Her mother had left without her. Her mother had been the person she liked most in the world, she had been so attached to her mother, but her mother never loved her back and had left her alone with her father. Her brother had also left her, leaving her with her father, they had never loved her enough to take her along.
After her mother had left, her brother Joshua had been the next comfort she had. He had protected her and had been with her until he came out to her and their father had heard it. She didn't know if it was her fault that Joshua left or not. She could remember that day vividly, she had watched him leave and she didn't make to follow him and she didn't try to beg him to stay. He had looked at her with what she later realized was disbelief. Surprise. Betrayal. But he had called her those first few months to know if she was still alive and if she had eaten, but at a time, he got tired and stopped.
She took more shots of alcohol. Then she had lived with her dad, enduring his punishments and religious fallacies until she left for college. Where she met Nora, who became a sister she had never had. Nora had been the only one that had sticked with her throughout her college and was still here now. She met Noah in her final year at college and he proved he was different from the other men she had had in her life. She dated a couple of boys in college, but most of them were not serious, so she had cancelled college love and had resolved, there was no serious love there.
She had been surprised when Danny and Nora started dating in their sophomore year and had managed to sail through college and now they were about to get married and make a family. Even her worst enemy, Hazel had gotten married. A girl that had found delight in picking on her at college. But, that girl had managed to be friends with Nora.
She gulped down another drink. The song was on repeat, so she kept seeing Noah's face. Noah had also made her fall in love with the song and she had gone ahead and had fallen in love with the artiste. She finally closed her notepad, she couldn't write anything, tears were blinding her. She just focused on the drink.
Ethan felt thirsty. He didn't like summer, it was always making him thirsty. Before a day ended he must have drank gallons of water like a camel. He stood up from bed and texted Jennifer that he would be right back. He tossed his phone on the bed and headed to the kitchen. He opened the kitchen and saw her seated there, an earpiece to her ears, bottles of alcohol on the table, notepads on the table. He stood at the door watching her.
