ANOTHER ONE

Faith woke up on Monday by 4:30 PM.   She turned in bed feeling better. It was a good thing that she was her own boss, if not, she would have gotten a query for not going to work on a Monday. She reached for her phone on the nightstand, Nora had given her two missed calls last night. Apart from that, nothing. It's not like anyone would call her after all.

She dropped her phone and laid back in bed, looking at the ceiling. She closed her eyes to rest a little before going to search for what to eat.  They flared up again. Her roommate! She had promised to go out with him on Friday evening—although not much of a promise, it was more of an agreement to get him off her neck. Her eyes flew to her door and she sat up in her bed.

Had he been knocking on her door? What had happened to him? Why was her door still intact? Was he around? Did he go to the police yet? She slowly climbed down from the bed and walked barefoot to the door. She had locked her door from inside. She exhaled, no wonder he couldn't come in, if not he would have gone in and would have woken her by the next thirty minutes last Friday.

She slowly opened her door and peep out to the living room, he was not there, she slowly closed her door. What had happened? Why did he not come to check up on her? What went wrong? Was he around? She decided to find out. She had initially planned to avoid him, but avoiding him was not going to solve the problem, he would still see her as long as they live under the same roof.

She slowly opened her door and looked into the living room again, there was no trace of him

She slowly left her room and went towards his door to knock and at least apologize. She went in front of his door to knock, hoping he wouldn't be around. But as she raised her hand to knock, his door opened and he came out, looking at her, his eyes without expression. She took two steps backwards. He looked back into his room as if someone was there, then he came out and stood between her and the door.

"What do you want?" he asked.

Her eyes fell.  "Err... I... I wanted to…I..."  the door of the room opened again and a bright-eyed girl with short blonde bangs came out.

"Honey, is there a probl...?" her words trailed off as she saw Faith.  "Oh, your roommate?" she asked excitedly.

Ethan turned to her.  "Go inside, Charlotte."

The girl smiled at the confused Faith and went inside. Faith felt anger boiling up in her. She didn't leave her room for two straight days and this roommate of hers didn't care? All he did was to bring another slut back home? Why did he ask her to go on a date with him then? He was another playboy that just wanted to mess around with her.

But she cautioned herself. First, she had told him to stay out of her business. Second, he never asked her out nor has he professed love to her. So she has no right to get angry, but she was angry all the same, sh e couldn't help it.
