Faith had left the house with no where in mind. She just wanted the cold air to hit her face, she just wanted to cool off. For few minutes, she walked without any destination in mind. She just started counting the street lights, trying to fight back the tears that were stubbornly trying to fall. After walking for a while, she decided to go over to Nora's, it was going to take an hour to walk to Nora's. She glanced at her phone screen, it was 8:37 PM and she decided that there was still time. She would get to their house by 9:37 and she knew they wouldn't let her walk back home.
So she started her walk to Nora's, the events of the night replaying in her head. She kept seeing that woman kissing him. Those lips that had kissed her that night. She had been drunk, but she wanted to know what that lips felt like when she was sober. She shook her head to blurt out the thought from her head.
In times like this, she missed her family, she missed Noah. She wouldn't be walking miles and miles in tears, with tears if she was still together with Noah. Now, she had left a house where lovers had chased her to go to another house where two lovebirds would probably be having their own good time.
She halted for a moment. She might be intruding on Danny and Nora by going to their house. What if they were having an intimate moment, she wouldn't want to disturb them. For a moment, she stood there, her hands in her finger pockets, contemplating whether to go back or front. Life have never treated her fairly. She was always the one left out. At some point, she would feel she was in control and everything would seem fine, but the next minute, she was left alone again, outside, dark and cold. She looked around she was on top of the bridge and the cars that zoom pass, don't pay attention to her.
She looked at the water, darken by night and contemplated for a split second to fall inside. What would happen if she fall in? No one cared anyway? She wasn't valid at all. But, instead of falling into the water, she started walking forward, going towards Nora's house. She walked fast, faster and then she broke into a run. She ran half of the way, hoping to outrun that gloomy feeling, but her chest only hurt.
Nora and Danny were in their exquisite living room, enjoying a Netflix TV series when she barged in panting. Nora jumped from Danny's body and ran to her.
"Faith, are you alright?!" She didn't answer. "Jesus Christ! Why are you panting like you ran hundred meters?"
"Because, I did," Faith said out of breath.
"Let he seat," Danny said.
"I want water," Faith said still panting.
"Baby, get her drinking water!" Nora said to Danny. Danny shot up to go to the fridge to get a bottle.
"I want water, I want to be inside water... I want to fall inside water."
Nora looked at her in confusion. "You wanna swim?"
Faith nodded. Nora asked Danny to forget about the water. She led Faith up the stairs to the roof where their swimming pool was. Faith peeled off her layers of clothes and dived into the water. Nora stood by the edge looking at her as she swarm.
