CONFESSION

Faith waited for Charlie to move very far away from them before she turned back to Nora.

"I see you are smitten," Nora teased.

Faith spanked her shoulders, Nora yelped and glared at Faith.

"What did you do that for?!" Nora cried.

        "What did you just do?"

"What did I do? You were with the man before I came."

"Of course, I was. Did I ask for your assistance?"

Nora made a face and started walking away, Faith followed her.  "Well, you are lonely and need a man in your life!"

Faith chuckled.  "When did I say that?"

"You don't need to say it."

"How many men do you want me to fall in love with? There is Mr Floyd now you want sparks between Mr Anderson and me."

"Stop being too formal, it's boring. Ethan has been whisked away, you lost your chances, now Charlie is up for grabs."

        "Up for grabs my foot!"

"Why are you always running away from home? Don't tell me you are avoiding Ethan and Charlotte?"

        "Actually, I am avoiding them."

"Why? You blame yourself for losing Ethan to Charlotte?"

"Tsk, what do you take me for?"

They approached the canteen and Nora greeted a couple of people before she opened the canteen door and allowed Faith to go in first.

"So, why exactly are you avoiding them?"

Faith went over to a table and sat down while Nora took the opposite seat.

          "Because I kissed Ethan."

"What?!" Nora screamed so loud that a few heads turned towards their table.

Faith looked around and looked back at Nora. "Can you bring down your voice?" she said through gritted teeth.

Nora was still gawking at her with mouth agape and wide eyes. Faith sighed and scoffed.

        "When? Where? How?" Nora asked.

"It was all a mistake, so don't go having ideas in your head."

        "Tell me all of it."

        "Not once, but twice."

"Oh, my jingles! Twice? One is a mistake, twice is a habit."

Faith sighed.  "Both were mistakes and influence of alcohol."

Nora shook her head.  "No, no, no, don't blame it on alcohol. You have conceived it before it took place."

"So, are you trying to put it to me that I purposely kissed my roommate?"

"Faith, this might be God's way of bringing someone better to your life."

         "Can you stop saying, God?"

"Why? Do you have any issues with him? He is too big to have issues with anybody."

"Then, he should be the sickest bastard I have known of."

"That's blasphemous, Faith! I won't sit here and watch you talk about God like that."

"Then stop mentioning him in my case. Stop attributing everything to this God."

Nora was silent for a while, she looked like she was hurt from what Faith had just said and she looked like she still wanted to say something, but searching for the right to say.

"You know," she said finally.  "I don't know if you have any personal case with God or you think he doesn't exist because of your past. But I want to tell you that he exists and doesn't work in the ways you want him to work. He knows what he is doing..."

"Hey, girls!" Someone hollered and they turned to see Charlie smiling at them.
