DIFFERENT KIND OF VIBE

Nora handed her a mug of creamy coffee. "I know you are not supposed to take coffee, but take this as an apology gift. Faith took it, still pouting.

"I'm taking this because I'm thirsty."

"Well, you don't take coffee because you're thirsty."

Faith sipped the coffee and wrinkled her face. "This is cold."

"Well, I got it since morning. What were you doing in there since morning?"

"What stopped you from coming up the stairs?"

"Were you not surprised seeing me pull up in front of you?"

Faith huffed and looked out of the window. "Surprised my foot!"

"Do I have to say sorry before you stop sulking?"

        "I'm not sulking."

"Yes, you are. You look brighter on a gloomy day. Now I really wanna know what you were doing upstairs since morning. Did it get all steamy?" Nora asked peering at Faith.

Faith shot her a sharp look. "I could kill you right now. What steamy...? Nora!"

"I bring out the worst in you right. I accept accolades for that."

      "You have started again."

"If I don't start who will? Well, it's quite unfortunate that I am your only friend."

Faith rolled her eyes. "Well, you don't flatter yourself."

"If I am not, mention any other friend you have in your life right now."

"Charlotte," Faith blurted and looked out of the window like she didn't know Nora was glaring at her.

Nora matched the brakes and Faith was jerked forward. She turned to Nora.

"You wanna throw me out of your car?"

      "Yes! Now spill!"

       "Are you jealous?"

       "Well, isn't it obvious?"

Faith laughed, throwing her head back in delight. She knew Nora was going to react like that she was just looking for a reaction from Nora. Nora was still glaring at her. She turned to Nora.

"Are you gonna say sorry now?"

"Are you going to tell me what Charlotte did to become your new bestie?"

"I didn't say she is my new bestie."

        "You just insinuated it."

Faith faced forward again, the smile still on her face. "She's a different kind of vibe."

"What kind of vibe? You have to choose between us."

"No, Nora don't do this. You are selling yourself short."

"I don't understand what you are doing?"

"You are number one for me, all I'm saying is that Charlotte is a different kind of vibe."

"That's what I'm trying to understand."

Faith huffed. "Oh, God who asked me to agree to this ride?"

"No, you are not changing the topic. Tell me what you and Charlotte did."

"We partied all night. She said we could create fun ourselves and we did it last night."

"Oh, I see. You know what? One week."

Faith's face twitched. "What happens in one week?"

"Give the both of us one week in your life then you choose who is the real vibe."

"What? Nora, it hasn't gotten to that yet."

"It has so gotten to that. I have been here almost half of your life, but you've never called me a vibe, then you meet Charlotte yesterday and she is a whole different kind of vibe?"

"I say you are a vibe when I talk about you with someone and I think it too."

"One week," Nora said and set her face on the road, narrowed her eyes and started the car. She zoomed off with speed.

Faith screamed. "Whoa! Nora is a crazy vibe!"
