DINNER PARTY

Nora had invited Faith and Ethan to the affiliate dinner at Danny's network. Faith had honoured the invitation without knowing that Ethan was also invited. She had missed Charlotte a lot so in her honour, she made up her face and wore a sleeveless, maxi red dress, that showed almost the whole of her back, black heels and a white purse, with matching jewellery. Her hair is styled in a curly updo.

She was a pretty face, even without the makeup, but a little makeup, a little foundation here, a little eye makeup, a little makeup here and there was enough to bring out the goddess in her. It seemed every person was paired with a partner except her. This was the reason she hated coming for dinner evenings like this. She wasn't with a partner and she wasn't ready to talk to random men, because her friend Nora was walking around with Danny greeting people.

Danny who happened to be the deputy president of his network was looking all proud and handsome in his white tux, his buzz haircut, neat and well carved, with his beautiful bride to be, beside him, who had that smile on her face in a sleeveless, black dinner dress, her dark hair cascaded down her shoulders. Danny was really proud to show Nora off. He also used the opportunity to invite friends and business partners to his wedding. He moved around with her, his eyes never leaving Nora.

They had been a thing of interest to her since she didn't have a man beside her to admire her, she had to admire her friends and their pure love—at least she knew it was pure enough because she knew them both inside and outside and they don't have any scandals or skeletons that they hid in their cupboard or maybe they hid it too well from her.

She sipped from the cocktail glass in her hand, while she watched them move to another couple. This was the second glass, yet she had promised herself that she was going to control her drinking today. She watch as Nora smiled and laughed out loud at what the male of the couple they were greeting said. It made her wonder if Nora was truly happy and laughing heartily or was she just pulling up a smiling face to sail through. If she was the one, she wouldn't have been able to smile at all these people genuinely.

She would have gotten tired of smiling and even laughing out loud already. She sipped from her drink and pulled up a genuine smile as Danny and Nora approached her.

"My favourite people," she said as they approached her.

"You know for a while I didn't recognize you were the one over there," Danny said.  "You look simply awesome, oh my God, I have never seen you on a makeover before, honey have you?" He turned to Nora.

"Why then am I her best friend? This would be my second or third time seeing her on a make-up," Nora said with a smug. "And each time, she was always drop-dead gorgeous. I always wondered how one person could look so beautiful with or without makeup, while people like me have to do a lot of touching to bring that glow to effect."

Danny looked at Faith and shook his head. "I love you, Faith but this time, I have to be honest. Nora is prettier don't you think?"

Faith smiled and agreed by nodding her head. Nora pouted

"You are just saying it because I'm here."

"Don't you trust me?" Faith asked.

"Well, it is what it is, Faith, whether or not she believes it. Thank you for honouring this dinner party. I hope you are enjoying yourself?" Danny asked.

         "Of course."

"We would move on to the next couple. Have fun," Danny said already leaving and whisking Nora away with him.

But Nora, as crazy as she was broke away from his grip and ran up to Faith. She motioned Faith to bring her ear and Faith stooped.  "There are a lot of single okay guys here, you should hook up with one of them."
