Hope lost, found and lost again III

Later in the afternoon, she went back home, to get set for work the next day.

She was soon back home, she hung her bag before falling flat on her bed.

She often felt sad and anxious in the hospital, but now, this little room that she called home was no better.

The sadness and anxiousness didn't go away even at home. She was sad about how she lost a great opportunity and everything about that room reminded her of that. She was anxious because she didn't know whether she was to return one day and find out she had been thrown out of here too.

Her heart sank to the thought that she didn't even get to tell her grandma the good news before it immediately ended.

She would try not to let that bother her, if her grandma gets better, they would figure something out together.

That day passed by quickly, she found herself recently withdrawn from everything, life have indeed taken a toll on her. Life was never for a second fair towards her. Her parents were taken from her at a young age, and now, she somehow felt love again, and again, she was close to losing the only love in her life. Close to losing the only family she knew and had.

It was morning now, she had managed to sleep the night before, and now, it was time to work.

They had prepared the first meal of the day, she tried playing along and acting like all was good, but the burden she carried was way too heavy for a twenty-three years old.

The head chef, madam Felicia had noticed and had tried breaking her walls by cracking subtle jokes from time to time.

She laughed when she found them funny but her mood would immediately switch just after the joke expires.

They were a little settled now, she took out her phone from her pocket, and was dazed to see a mail from VENUS.

'Maybe it was an official dismissal letter since she wasn't offered any,' she concluded.

She was surprised to see the exact opposite of that.

She was called back by the firm and she was expected to resume as soon as tomorrow. Only that tomorrow was her Grandma's surgery and that was important to her too. She was sure they would sort it out, and they would understand if she gave her reason.

It was surprising to see how her mood lifted just because of the mail she received. She brightened a bit and she was glad to be given another opportunity.

'what could have caused this change of heart?' she wondered.

'What changed?'

Just a few minutes after the second dish, she retired to her room to have a little rest before her phone rang and it was from the hospital.

"Hello," she answered concluding it was a call regarding the surgery tomorrow, and she was eager to listen because she wanted to get all the useful tips she needed.

"I'm sorry to inform you of the sudden..."
