"Look who is here," a voice said behind her. She turned and saw it was Brad, one of the students.
"Hey," she said with a forced smile.
"Hey, so are you back?" He asked.
"Yeah," she responded with a tone that lacked excitedness.
"Mmm, you don't seem excited about it," Brad asked.
She sighed, "I am, but you know..."
"I get it, don't let it get to you.
Let's go," he said and they both now went into the building, took the elevator, and were soon on the floor they had their classes.
She still had a few minutes till their class commenced. She knew the first thing she needed to do, she needed to go see the manager, Mrs. Wayne.
It was included in the mail.
Mrs. Wayne's Assistant informed Mrs. Wayne that she was out there wanting to see her.
"You can go ahead," the assistant instructed her. She reached the door, gradually opened it, and found that Mrs. Wayne sat in her chair.
"Come in dear," she said with her usual welcoming smile.
She stepped into the elegant office and Mrs. Wayne offered her a seat.
She sat and watch the woman pause what she was doing to attend to her.
"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and heartbreak our past decision caused you.
Here, you need to sign these, it's the same document we sent to you via mail, we just need you to sign it.
"Oh, sure," Joleen said before taking the documents and began to sign them. She was expected to sign on a couple of pages.
***** Mrs. Wayne Pov ****
She sat across this young woman and watched her sign the documents. The girl that her son had picked interest in. It was the most random thing she would ever think Dennis to do, but then again, Dennis her son never followed any rule book. He did anything and whatever. The idea that Dennis her son stood up for a girl made her feel good and proud, but it also got her worried. She was worried for the poor girl, what did he want with her? Whatever it was might not end well. She didn't seem to know much, talk of when it had to do with a man like her son. She still somehow hoped that his agitation for her was just solely business because she truly deserved a break, a chance. But when did her son start to think of other people that weren't family without wanting something else in return.?
"Done, here," Joleen said bringing her attention back.
Mrs. Wayne took the documents and told her that will be all.
"Good luck," she added.
"Thank you," she responded before heading to the exit. She was halfway to the exit when she paused. She wanted to get an answer to her curiosity, she wanted this question that had bothered her answered.
She turned, and she noticed the woman's attention move from her desk to her.
"Why did you change your mind?" She asked.
"Oh, dear," the woman said before letting out a sigh. She took off her reading glasses before she continued to speak.
"As I told you, it's not solely my decision whether one can stay or go.
Someone stood up for you and we saw reasons to it." Mrs. Wayne said.
*** Mrs. Wayne POV ***
Mrs. Wayne was now a bit less speculative realizing that she didn't know that Dennis had asked that she returned, maybe it was nothing. Maybe he too now saw what she saw. If they were more than boss and student, there were high chances that she would have known who exactly stood up for her.
"Mmm," Joleen let out. She wondered who it was, was it one of their tutors? she didn't see her tutors as people that had special interest in her to the extent out standing for her. Well, maybe one could, or was it Dennis? Was he the one that requested that she come back?
I'm her quest here, she would have loved it if one of the tutors were the one who stood up for her because it would mean that she had an impact. And at the same time, for her personal reason, she would be fancy if Dennis saw her enough to notice she was gone in no time and ask that she return.
She wanted to ask who it was so bad, but she figured if she wanted to say who it was, she would have, instead of using the pronoun "someone"
"I see, tell whoever it was I said Thank you," she said with a faint smile.
"Yes, sure will," Mrs. Wayne said returning her smile.
