Chapter 56

While Chase and Alicia were waiting for Basil, they took time to study the environment, they had planned to take him without anyone noticing, so as to avoid any kind of violence, but from the way they saw the place, it looked a though it was going to be a tough one for them. Inside the palace were boys of different heights and sizes, some were smoking hemp, while playing poker, others were drinking and smoking cigarettes, there were some dancing with some ladies, with the sound of the music very high that it was very difficult to hear each other. Most of the discussions were more of shouts than talks.Alicia thought about the entire plan and felt it would be wise to have a Plan B, so she whispered to Chase that if they see there would be chaos trying to get Basil, she would suggest they trail him, and get to know his place so they would go get him sometime later. Chase accepted the idea knowing fully well what the reaction of those going boys could result, so they waited the more. 

It wasn't quite long that a sound of a powerful engine was heard outside, Chase knew it was probably Basil announcing his presence, so he shifted to one of the windows where he would have a view of what was going on outside. To his amazement, a green colored ford mustang was spinning it's wheel with so much speed and the smoke from the friction was all over the place amidst the cheers of the ladies and guys who were watching. After a while, the spinning stopped and the car was parked in the middle of the road, blocking everyone behind from passing. By this time, Alicia had joined Chase as she noticed almost everyone was watching the show. Two young boys alighted from the car, one was tall and huge, upto 6ft tall, he was wearing a white round neck polo and a jean jacket on it, under it he wore a torn jeans yay had some patches with different colours. He was also putting on his feet a brown big sized timberland boots with one leg of his jeans trouser stocked inside while the other was normal on the booth. On his neck were two big chains one was golden in color while the other was silver, the silver colored chain had a cross on it which dropped on his chest. His fez cap was faced backwards, from the side of the door he was standing, Chase could see he was the one that drove the car. The second young boy came down from the passengers side, he was not as tall as the driver, but he had a well built muscular body that made him look like the bouncers or the WWF wrestlers who were see on TV. He wore a black long sleeve shirt, well buttoned, with a Lacoste black chinos trouser to match, on his feet was a black Nike sneakers, he was also wearing a big long chain with a cross, but he was not with a cap, rather he wore a very dark shade that covered his eyes. Alicia admired him, he was actually looking handsome and innocent, he had a clean haircut and shave. He was a perfect match of the description Gab gave. As soon as they shut the car doors, three other huge guys came out from nowhere and stood behind them. Then came the hailing voices from the little crowd that gathered, 

Ba- Ba- Basil, Ba- Ba- Basil Ba- Ba- Basil

It went on for few minutes and stopped, the he moved towards the palace, the three bouncers following and the crowed behind. Chase and Alicia were enjoying the drama eventhough they were eating for the right time to do there job, part of what they did as they watched was to study the crowed and especially the three bouncers. As soon as the two guys got to the door of the palace, the DJ stopped the music and announced their arrival, then he switched to a reggae song by Bob Marley. Immediately, all the guys and the ladies stood up and began to dance like Jamaicans, those with their cigarette and weeds raising it up, while others raised their bottle of drink as they danced. The waiter was handing bottles of drinks to those other ones who had non with them, and to Chase'amazement, he and Alicia got too, that was when he knew that Basil had ordered drink for everyone in the house. He recalled that Gab told him it was one of the ways he announced his presence and appreciated his so called fans. The reggae music played two to three tracks before it stopped, and the crowed began to reduce, most of them went back to where they came out from including the three bouncers, it was then Chase has a little sigh of relief, cos he was thinking of the way to face those three huge guys. Alicia noticed too felt the same way when they left, atleast they wouldn't have much to contend with of their things went the way they had planned it. 

From the position Chase and Alicia were sitted, they could have a total view of the entire place, except the other rooms. The DJ had handed the microphone to the other guy whom he introduced as a rap artist, he was to sing one of his songs, so the DJ initiated the beat while he stood to sing. Basil who was standing walked towards Alicia and asked that she excused him to sit with them, Chase shifted, Alicia followed and he had room to sit. The entire hall were filled with the beautiful voice of the artist, his voice was almost like that of R- Kelly and the guests where all nodding and enjoying his renditions, as he went from one song to the other rapping at intervals and adding fancy to the entire songs. After his last song, the entire guests including Alicia and Chase stood up and gave him a loud clapping ovation. 

It was as if the entire plans that Chase and Alicia had were working out on its own, as Basils friend placed his phone on his ears and walked outside, Chase knew he had a call. Meanwhile, while he was contemplating going for Basil, he turned and could not see both Basil and Alicia. He couldn't believe it, he became afraid. He searched the entire hall, they were not anywhere in there, he proceeded to the various rooms, and each one he got to all he saw were a guy and a lady either making out or dancing. He thought of what and how it happened, could it be that Basils friend pretended to have a call and went out while Basil went out with Alicia, were they aware of whom they are and why they were there? Did he take Alicia by force and what took his mind away so long that he didn't notice what happened? These and many questions kept flooding his mind, as he smoked and tried keeping calm to avoid getting people suspicious of him. He sat down again, thinking of what next to do, then his phone rang, he picked and Alicia's voice came through. 

I got him, come to the car quick let's get out of here. She was snappy

Chase took his pack of cigarettes and hurried out of the hall, he slowed down a little when he came out and walked to the road, then he moved faster. From the rear windshield, he could see that Alicia wand Basil were on the rear seat, so he opened the driver's door, got behind the wheel, with a speed of light, he drove off. From the rear mirror, he could see Basil and Alicia, he could not believe his eyes, Basil was on handcuff,his hands behind him. How Alicia did it remained a mistery to him, earlier on, he was thinking Basil and his friends had adopted Alicia, and was planning on how to rescue her, not knowing his presumed hunter had turned to be the hunted. Eventhough he was anxious to solve the mistery behind what happened, he told himself he needed to be careful and concentrate on his driving to avoid mishap. Alicia was holding her gun in one hand and with the other hand, he made sure Basils head was lowered to avoid anyone outside seeing him, it was also a measure to prevent him from making any move that would attract passersby. Chase got to the office, found a comfortable place and parked the car, luckily, the director was standing outside. When he saw them alight with Basil on handcuff, he knew they had caught a culprit, so he joined them immediately. They walked into the interrogation room together. The director followed them this time because he was on a hot seat, he had earlier got a message from the head office asking him to get to the root of that case and find out who was responsible for all that was happening, before the announcement of electioneering dates for political parties primaries, and from what he heard, the said date was to come in two weeks. He passed the information to Chase and added that he wouldn't mind being part of the team, meaning hw would be in the field with them.

 Basil was tied to the usual chair for interrogation. He was asked several general questions which included his name, his place of birth, his age and who his parents were. Then came the real questions. This time, it came from the director himself;

Where were you on Tuesday the 17th? Asked the Director

I was at home, Basil lied.

I ask you one more time, where were you at exactly 3:30pm on that day?

The director had folded the sleeves of his shirt and removed his wristwatch, he was a no nonsense man and as it stood then, he was not ready for any child's play nor was he ready for chasing games.

I was at home. He repeated

He dealt a blow on his face, Basil landed on the floor with the chair and blood gushed from the side of his lips which broke due to the impact of the blow. Chase raised him when th the chair and kept him back on a sitting position. The director repeated the question again, but this time, Basil did not utter a word, he was spitting out blood from his mouth. The director was now very furious, he moved closer to him and gave him another blow on the other side of the chick. Basil groaned in pains but refused to answer. It was more of hardeness of heart which resulted from criminal mindedness, as he had been a regular visitor to correctional centres. The director asked Alicia to get the tools for carrot and stick treatment. It was one of the deadly measures that they used to get criminals to talk. Initially they would apply it at the back of the criminals palm, but in this case the Director had a worse agenda for Basil. Alicia got the candle, the matchbox, and the bucket of ice blocks. Basil who was seated spitting out the blood that was entering his mouth did not know what was coming to him. He was still bent on not talking. Chase walked up to him, unbuckled his trouser, and pulled down both the trouser and the boxer. He untied him from the chair and placed him on a highly raised flat table, with a hole on it. The way he was positioned, his dick went into the hole so that from underneath the table one can see it.  Chase ties him on the table in such a way that he won't be able to move his body, his hands, and his legs. Then Alicia brought a small stool which the placed directly under his dick, and the candle glued on the stool. The candle stood close to his dick with at least  6inches gap. The director collected the matchbox, took a matchstick, struck it and litthe candle. Then he asked him again;

Where were you on that day and at that time?

Basil didn't talk immediately, but after a few seconds, he let out a shout, he was begging and shouting that he should be allowed to talk, then the director blew off the candle, but his cry continued, so he carried the bucket of ice and raised it in such a way that his dick got into it. Basil took a breath of relief, and remained silent. When the question came again, he spoke;

I was driving he responded. I was to pick... He pointed at Alicia, I was to kidnap her.

Who sent you? Director asked, this time with a loud harsh voice. He was ready to strike the match stick again when he heard him

Please save me, he will kill me if he found out I leaked it. 

We will save you, just tell us the name. Came Chase'voice

We call him the Boss, he said stuttering. Then he added; his name is Senator Alexis Crusoe.

When Mike and Lucy heard and recognized the voice calling her as that of Olivia, the entire mood died, Mike's dick shrinked, they became confused on what to do next, Lucy placed her forefinger on her lips signalling Mike not to speak, the she pointed to the bathroom. Mike understood her, so he ran into the bathroom. Lucy gathered herself together and confidently opened the door, holding the vibrator where Olivia could see it conspicuously, just as she planned, it worked to her advantage. Olivia did not ask her after Mike, rather she asked how she was doing and told her they would be meeting at their usual venue that evening. She knew that was not only what she came for but when she saw the vibrator, she was changed her question, probably to give her space to continue whatever she was doing in her room. As soon as she left, Lucy delayed a little before shutting the door, within that little time, she heard Olivia asking Bruno Mike's where about.

Mike came out of the bathroom, looking confused, he was to put on his wears, but Lucy advised he took his time and shower since Olivia had confirmed he wasn't with her. He reluctantly adhered to the advice as he quickly took a shower, the he hurriedly wore his clothes looking more refreshed. But the big problem was how to get out of the room unoticed. They knew that Bruno was at alert and always watching the corridor, it would be a big mess for him to see Mike walk out they door when he knew Olivia had checked him out there. Mike sat on the bed filled with thoughts, he felt so bad that he hated Lucy for showing up again in his life. Lucy initially was not bordered, but when she looked at Mike, the way he sat, his mood, and having believed he was husband to Olivia, she had a melted heart and compassion on him. So she offered to help him get out. She told him his plan and they prayed it worked. Lucy took her night robe, and covered her nakedness, she stepped out of the room to the corridor, when she looked towards the end of the corridor, Bruno was seated outside watching, so she walked towards him, Bruno saw her approaching him and stood up he imagined what she might be coming to him for,meanwhile Mike was peeping through the door, calculating every move so that he would take advantage. 

Can I borrow it soap in your bathroom, mine fell into the cistern and eventhough I have reached them for a replacement, I can't be waiting for ever. She asked, 

While she was asking, she carefully blocked his view with her body while allowing him see part of his curves as she allowed one side of the robe open. Bruno was not interested in her body, so he rushed in to get her the soap so that she would leave and he would concentrate on his job. Mike took the time to walk out of the room and quickly headed for the lift.
