Chapter 57

Senator Alexis Crusoe has been in the Senate representing his constituency for years, he was in his third term which when calculated in terms of years, was twelve years. He was making impact as he had some of the bills credited to him. Senate wasn't the only platform he served politically, he was once a mayor of his county, where he performed creditably well and gained the support of his people. He was also once a Deputy Governor. Infact his political career started way back in his school days as he contested the position of the student union president. Although he failed, but it brought him to the limelight and the experience had an impact on his life. He was a reknowned Pharmacist, and rose to the top in the career, he made money from it and began investing in the real estate business, both n the country and outside. The wise combination of his pharmaceutical career and politics brought him to a wealthy status. He was married with three children, a girl and two boys, and all of them leaves in the United Kingdom. He had many degrees, masters and he had PhD in view. 

Chase, Alicia and the Director listened attentively as Jackie read out what he found out about the senator. The director had told him to get all he could on the senators profile. This he did after  Basil had mentioned the name, and they left him. They were shocked at the confirmation from Basil from what Tim said. The director knew all had to do with the coming election. Rumour has it that both friends Crusoe's and Harts were gunning for the position of the number one citizen of the country. What baffled him was that they were close friends or maybe people assume the to be including him. He had always seen politics as a game of individual interest, but to see it being played in such a way that it seemed a do or die affair, was alien to him. The director felt the information online wouldn't give the true picture of who the senator was, 

no one would write something hhad done wrong or mistakes he had made on his profile, he told them, there must be something about him we need to find out, and it is our job to do so as soon as possible. He added. 

I suggest we dig into his past, maybe we would discover something. Chase suggested.

The director nodded and told them he was going to send the recorded interrogation to Ben Hart after a call and seek for his permission to either proceed or not. So he picked his phone and called Bens direct line. He informed him that a mail with attached recordings were on their way to his email as they speak, his quick perusal and response is needed, while he spoke, the it expert sent the mail. Meanwhile Hart sent his boys out of the office when he got the alert of a call on his direct line and as the director was talking, he held the phone with his upper shoulder on his ears while the hands were quick on the keyboard logging into his email. As soon as he logged in, took his seat, and the director went off his line, a mail dropped. He quickly took his ear piece and opened the attached recordings in the mail. 

While he was talking with Ben Hart, the email being sent, and they waiting for his response, Chase took the little time and space to ask Alicia how Basil was handcuffed and got into their car. He made sure the tone in his voice was low as Alicia was so close to him and she alone heard him. Alicia took the same time to tell him the story. While they watched Basils friend sing, Basil was sitting beside her, but what Chase did not know was that Basil was wooing her, he asked if Chase was her boyfriend and her answer was yes, then he went ahead to tell her that it doesn't matter, and that all he needed was for them to meet somewhere and have fun, he promised to take good care of her more than Chase. Alicia played along with him, but right inside her she knew it was an opportunity to make his arrest easier. So she sounded like a novice thereby fell for his advances. She allowed him plant a kiss on her lips, and she responded. Basil felt she fell for him because if his game in the palace, she would have probably loved the way he was ushered in and loved to be identified with him. While they chatted, Alicia noticed he was already having an erection, so she placed her hand on his flap and caressed the bulge. Basils eyes grew wide, he hadn't seen such boldness, everything to him was moving so fast, so he relaxed himself allowing her to feel him the more. He had wanted to unzip his trouser, that was when the thought of what to do came into Alicia's mind, it happened to coincide with the time the singer was through with the song and was headed outside to take his call. By this time Chase was standing with others clapping for the artist. Alicia whispered into Basils ear, to follow her to her car for a quickie, as he boyfriend was already drunk and on drug too, so he won't notice...

And he followed you? Chase asked in suprise

That was how you met us in the car when I called, Alicia responded even as she continued the story... the got to the car and took the back seat. Alicia threw his zip open and gave him a handjob, it felt so good that he relaxed. She threw the buttons on her shirt open and allowed him a full view of her breast which partly shoot out of the sexy bra, Basil was about to touch them, but she told him to close his eyes and keep his hands behind him as she would want him to see and touch her boobs when she removed her bra. At that point she was sitting down behind the driver's seat with Basil behind the front passengers seat, with his eyes closed, backing her and his hands behind him. Alicia used his left hand to quietly pick up the gun and the hand cuff, then she quickly cuffed one of his hand, Basil opened his eyes immediately and was about to react, when he saw the gun;

Shit! He said

Chase laughed, this sounds like a migical movie he said.

Yes it does, Alicia replied. So I finally cuffed the both hands and called you.

This is commendable, but sincerely that was a huge risk, Chase added. To even think you went as far as having a romantic adventure just to arrest this guy, he smiled. You amazed me. I would love to experience such arrest from you he added jokingly.

Alicia smiled, the you have to go into a crime that I would be assigned to, she replied, while hitting him with the palm of her hands. 

It took Ben few minutes to go through the short voice recording, he was dumbfounded, and he didn't know what to say or do. He found it hard to believe that Crusoe was behind all these. He somehow wanted to shrug it off and probably see it as a set up, but something kept telling him to give himself time and think through before concluding. He sat there for while, leaning his head backwards on the head rest of his executive chair. He thought of the source of the information, it was his agents, and he had been with them for years and could vouch theu were to be trusted. His mind took him back to his friend Crusoe, how well he knew him was not the matter, it was more of personal interest now and in politics as they say, there is no permanent friend nor permanent enemy. He recalled that he had shown interest in contesting for the same seat he was gunning for. But he thought that wouldn't be enough reason to take lives or make it a do or die affair. What of he had succeeded in killing his two daughters? He asked himself, no! Crusoe wouldn't do this he shrugged the thought off. He stood up, and pressed the buzzer, his aid rushed in. He told him to prepare modalities for onward movement out of Paris. The aid understood what he meant, so he moved out immediately. Hart picked his phone and sent a message to his daughter and his wife, then he proceeded to clear up his table, awaiting his Aids return.

The aid returned and announced their readiness to move, Hart hurriedly took his phones and his diary. They quickly walked to the front lobby where the SUVs were lined up waiting. Officially he went on such a trip with four GMC SUVs and that was exactly what was waiting. His aid opened the door for him, he jumped in and they took off having told the aid where they were headed. It was an impromptu movement and of course an urgent one, the aid had noticed the urgency in his boss's voice and passed his directive in like manner. The four SUVs were all bullet proof and they had full tanks. They were headed to the Airforce base where Hart was to board a helicopter to Paris. While in the car, Hart kept in touch with his regional office as the director made provision for his security and movement to the agency. It didn't take them much time to arrive the base, Hart and his aid alighted, and ran to the already waiting helicopter, while the driver's and security details turned back. 

The flight from the Airforce base to Paris was 35minutes, immediately they landed, the security details assigned were already waiting with the SUVs, only this time it wasn't the GMC, but they were also bulletproof. While in the helicopter, Hart took time to explain to the aid what was going on, the aid was shocked at the news, he wonders why Crusoe would take such measures when they were yet to go into primaries, he imagined what would happen if the main election took off. He told Hart to hold on until they have heard from the horses mouth. This he said having heard from him that he doubt if Crusoe was actually behind it. 

The normal thing about this kind of movement, was that the cars moved like thunder lightening. A journey that would take an average driver an hour, took them less than 30 minutes. By the time they arrived the office, the director, Chase, Alicia, Jackie and few other agents were still waiting for his call. When they saw the cars drove in, the thought that the regional head was around, possibly sent by Hart, so they all rushed out, stood still and gave their respectful salute. To their shock, the door flew open, and Hart jumped down. He took a handshake with them and asked to be led to the culprits. The director led the way followed by Hart, then his aid, Chase and Alicia flanked them on both sides, while the security details that brought him took their various strategic positions outside the premises. They walked into the room and one of the agent was asked to bring out Tim. When Tim came out, Hart couldn't believe his eyes, he looked at him again and called him by his name. Tim fell on his feet and begged for forgiveness. He told him how everything started and how envious Crusoe was of him. Meanwhile Jackie was on the system room watching and recording. Hart asked Tim if he would be bold enough to stand in the court and witness against Crusoe, he accepted to do so if his time would be reduced as promised. He was also asked if he had any evidence of any sort to attach to his statement, this he thought for awhile, then he remembered and told him that there was a video evidence he kept somewhere. The agent took him back and brought in Basil. Hart asked him some questions and he was able to tell his own side of the story which also implicated Crusoe, then he asked him same thing he asked Tim, although the young man had evidence, he was afraid of standing as witness. Chase asked that they get the evidence and give him time to think through so he would get over his fears. They left the interrogation room and went to the directore office for a short chat.

Mike was able to walk back to room 100, without being noticed that he came out from Lucy's room. Bruno was the first to welcome him, he knocked on the door and Olivia opened, she left the door and went back to what she was doing, he shut it and walked into the room. He pulled off his clothes and changed into a short and top. Olivia was busy signing the paper works, and sending the scanned ones to Mary's office. She was to handover the papers to Lucy that night, hence her speeding up her work. Earlier on she spoke with Sam and they agreed she should go ahead with the American contact so as to make the deal easier. She signed the last one, perused the entire work to make sure nothing was left out, then she packaged them accordingly in the big envelope and kept them on the table. She then turned to Mike who lay down on the bed with his back and his legs on the floor;

Where did you go? She asked

Mike had noticed somethings about Olivia and one of such is her way of asking him questions. She was always direct with her questions and he mostly get the questions by surprise. Although it came with such a soft and low tone, showing respect, but it was always near impossible for one not to give an answer and a true one at that if one wasn't careful, especially in his case. 

I was around, pool side, for natural air, he responded.

Olivia smiled, she knew that Mike was too kind to a fault and that any beautiful woman could just sweep him off his feet. She had not suspected Lucy, but she has been careful not to allow her with him alone. For her, Lucy and Mike were just friends, and nothing was attached to it, hence her effort not to allow it go beyond that. 

I thought maybe you went to see your girlfriend in her room? She said jokingly

Mikes was suprise, he never thought she was suspicious of them, all he had done was to cover up his ass so that she would believe his first story of how he met Lucy, and he felt she bought the story hook and sinker. But to his suprise the question has shown that she had her eyes on them. He remembered he just escaped a few minutes ago by the eye of the needle, he had thought what would have happened if she stepped into that room. When he ran into the bathroom, his clothes were still on the bed and some on the ground. 

My girlfriend? He asked

Yes Lucy? I went there to check on you, saw her with dildo, so I left. She said. She must be feeling horny and I wouldn't want you to be her game. she added.

Mike smiled, she isn't my girlfriend, and you would have called me, before going there. He was now capitalizing on the loopholes that Olivias action had created. Is would have told you where exactly I was and you meet me there, instead of embarrassing us. 

Olivia felt remorseful and apologized to him, that made Mike calmer and happy. She moved closer to him and kissed him, asking if she was forgiven, Mike promised he has and returned the kiss. That was when Olivia's phone beeped, she took it and checked, it was a message from her Dad. Olivia was shocked at the message, so she excused herself from Mike and called the sister, they spoke for few minutes, the sister expressing same shock, then she called the Mom, she was sounding disappointed and was almost crying. She adviced her to stay strong, that they would as one united family overcome this and come out stronger.
